Me these days... burnt out on everything and at max ajumma power. I figured I should at least do my hair, so I booked Eomaek the moment I had free time :) A parking tower, so great! My usual salon was a struggle to park at, but parking here is easy and I love it.

A café-like waiting area and the atmosphere inside

The inside of Eomaek Hair Project Cheomdan Branch is styled like a café, and the waiting area has lots of drinks to choose from. I was surprised the second I walked in!! A hair salon this trendy ❤️🔥

I bet you wouldn't get bored even if you just tagged along while your girlfriend or boyfriend gets their hair done.

The waiting area is done up just like a café, so waiting is actually a pleasant thing. There was a video playing on a projector across the way, and just like a real café there were plenty of drinks! What is this service... The head director of Eomaek started at Park Seung-chul Hair Studio Cheomdan Branch and has run salons in Cheomdan for over 10 years, up to Eomaek Hair Project Cheomdan Branch 👏🏻

While waiting, you go to the locker room and change into a gown! The gown is self-service. You store your things and change by yourself, then come out. My hair was done by my designer 🤍

They gave me snacks, and even brought them over kindly when I went to my seat 🥹 Touched by the thoughtfulness.

There are three shampoo chairs, all motorized so they lower smoothly, which is comfortable. After a thorough consultation, I shampooed first.

Messy hair from leftover perm: how was the volume magic done?

When I said I wanted a natural volume magic (a root-volume straightening perm), Eomaek set rolls at the roots to keep the volume. My hair was so messy because of the perm I'd had before.

Volume magic is called "volume" but is nearly the same as straight magic, so I told them I wanted it as natural as possible! And they put rolls at the roots, totally getting what I meant! 👍🏻

The chair is so cool: it has a fold-out table, so you can comfortably have a drink and prop up your phone however you like! Way better than balancing it on a cushion on your lap!

Not just the roots rolls, but the heat treatment too! It gave me so much trust and confidence! 👏🏻 hehe

How long did the volume magic take?

Even though it was done calmly and carefully, the volume magic at Eomaek took about 2 hours. My designer is calm yet incredibly meticulous 🥹 So good! As I get older, sitting in a salon chair for a long time wears me out, but this went so well, hehe

They put a curve into the roots and straightened them with a flat iron with real care. I've done volume magic three times and otherwise just straight magic, but this method was different from my previous salons, so I was so excited haha. Above all, it looked like it would come out the way I wanted: not pasted flat, but natural and calm :)

Treatment steps and neutralizing while lying back

The volume magic order at Eomaek was shampoo, product application, heat treatment, shampoo, neutralizing, blow-dry. And the neutralizing is done lying back at the shampoo station, which was amazing haha. Like a little rest break. Who thought of this.. so good..

Did the volume magic look natural?

The volume magic from Eomaek came out natural, not pasted flat, and my friends complimented it at that day's get-together. Ahh, I couldn't do a full dye so the photos don't capture the real thing ㅠ0ㅠ but it turned out so well! 🤍 Once gray hair comes I'll have to do it whether I like it or not, so I'm leaving it alone as long as I can... (lol)
