Jazz 257 in Songdo: a Tuesday night date with Mom
Jazz 257 Songdo Central Park Branch is a live jazz bar right by Songdo Central Park, and I went on a Tuesday evening for a mother-daughter date with my mom. My company is closed on Wednesday, so Mom came to visit me, haha. She made the trip from Suwon to Incheon on public transport with no car, so for our rare mom-and-me date I searched like crazy for a restaurant with a good atmosphere.
Then I remembered that Mom likes jazz, so I focused on jazz bars and found Jazz 257! It's by Central Park, so it's close to my home too, haha. We walked around the park for a bit, but it was so hot that we ducked inside right away :(

Jazz 257 Songdo Central Park Branch is on the 2nd floor of the Artfore building, so you go up by stairs or elevator. The 1st floor is a different shop, so don't get confused and head up to the 2nd floor! The exterior looks like this, and it honestly looked calm and atmospheric from the outside already.

This is what the inside looks like! I had a reservation and was seated toward the front. Since it was a Tuesday it wasn't packed, which was nice.
The weather was so nice that they had the windows open, but the air conditioning was on too, so it was very cool. And it was fun to look at the view outside. It's summer, so even though we arrived at 7pm the days are long and it was still bright.
There's a spacious group seating area like this,
and there are window seats too. With all the windows open, it doesn't feel stuffy at all, just airy and open.
It's pretty when the sun comes in, and pretty again with the night view once the sunset comes. The atmosphere is so good that I think I'll stop by often.

Mom said you have to drink red wine to get in the mood, so we ordered red wine. Honestly I know nothing about wine, I can't tell the types apart and I can't really drink it :( But it's about the vibe, right, haha. Mom loved it.
How is the stone steak served at Jazz 257?
The stone steak at Jazz 257 comes out on a big stone, and a staff member does a fire show at the table. Because it's a stone, the heat lasts a long time, so you can cook it to the doneness you like, which was a plus.
The stone steak finally arrived! It was past 7 and I was so hungry, and I'd never seen a steak served on a big stone like this, so it felt kind of neat. A good-looking part-timer even did the fire show, haha. As for the steak, need I say more? Of course it was delicious.
Dunk it in the sauce like this and sip some wine, and I felt like a sophisticated grown-up lady, hehe. Most of all, Mom liked it so much that I thought I should take her to lots of nice places like this from now on :( What is filial piety anyway, just spend lots of time with your parents...
How does the margherita pizza at Jazz 257 taste?
When I looked up reviews, Jazz 257 was said to be great for pizza, so I picked the margherita pizza. I'm not a big pepperoni fan, so margherita it was! The dough is thin, so it didn't feel as filling as I expected and we finished it quickly.
Just look at the photo, the cheese looks gorgeous, I want it again....

The live jazz at Jazz 257 Songdo Central Park Branch runs from 8 to 10pm, and the show started right at 8. I'd say I quite like jazz songs but never really seek them out, yet hearing them live was so, so good.
After the sun had fully set, the Central Park waterway was crazy atmospheric in its own dark way... There were quite a few couples out on dates, and it seems like a perfect date course.
The downside: indigestion meant leaving before the show ended
Hahaha, the pizza was so good that we wolfed it down until only one slice was left. If I hadn't eaten so fast out of hunger and gotten an upset stomach, I would have finished it :( The show was so good that I wanted to stay till the end, but because of my stomach we left earlier than planned, strolled through Central Park, and then went home.
The night view at Central Park is so pretty no matter when I see it. I think it has a different charm from Haenggung-dong in Suwon, haha.
