Chuncheon sushi buffet on a sibling trip: soy shrimp, salmon — QooQoo
In short
QooQoo Chuncheon Branch (쿠우쿠우 춘천점) is an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet on basement level 1 of the Two Top City building in Chuncheon, Gangwon. The writer visited for a weekday dinner at ₩29,900 per person while traveling with a younger sibling and tried raw salmon sushi, soy-marinated shrimp (ganjang saeujang), ox knee soup (dogani-tang) and a waffle. With a wide range of dishes and soy-marinated shrimp mild enough for several trips back, QooQoo Chuncheon Branch made for a satisfying dinner.

While traveling with my younger sister, I was trying to decide on dinner and suddenly thought of QooQoo after a long time. I love that you get sushi, all kinds of dishes and desserts in one place, and luckily there's a QooQoo in Chuncheon, so we went.
QooQoo Chuncheon Branch location and hours
QooQoo Chuncheon Branch (쿠우쿠우 춘천점) is on the B1 floor of the Two Top City building at 80 Jiseok-ro, Chuncheon, Gangwon, South Korea. It is open daily from 11:30 to 21:30.
How does parking work at QooQoo Chuncheon?
The parking lot is on B2 of the same building, and at 5:30 on a weekday evening it was roomy. Be sure to register your parking after your meal at the restaurant. They cover up to 3 hours of free parking, so keep that in mind.
Restaurant size and kids' play room
The branch has about 180 seats, which is quite big, and I heard it can take groups of up to 50. There's a kids' play room on one side, so it looks like a good place to come with children.
QooQoo Chuncheon weekday dinner price

Prices at QooQoo Chuncheon differ for weekday lunch, weekday dinner and weekends/holidays. I went at weekday dinner time and paid ₩29,900 per person. If there's a wait, your time is limited to 90 minutes, so keep that in mind.
What stations does QooQoo Chuncheon have?
The buffet was split into corners: salad, pizza, fried food, gunkan (sushi rice boats), rolls, noodles, fresh, sushi, dessert and drinks. It's fun to pick whatever suits your taste.
Salad corner: perilla oil noodles, yukhoe, jellyfish salad
First up was the salad corner. Besides salad, it had cold dishes like perilla oil noodles, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and jellyfish salad.

Pizza and fried corner: hot dishes
The pizza and fried corner had boneless fried chicken, stir-fried beef brisket with bean sprouts, dongpo-style pork hock and garlic butter grilled shrimp, among others. I like that they're served warm.

Sushi, gunkan and roll corner
QooQoo is famous as a Chuncheon sushi buffet, and there was a wide variety of gunkan, California rolls, nigiri and sushi. The amount of rice was just right, which made them easy to eat.

There were also soy-marinated shrimp, seasoned raw crab and salmon jang. The soy shrimp wasn't salty and was so good that I kept going back for more. The buffet was kept tidy overall, too.
Grill and fried corner
There was the en croûte soup that I always end up eating at a buffet, plus a wide range of grilled items: lamb chops, pork ribs, grilled pork belly and kebab.

The fried items were peppers, crab meat, potato, shrimp, hot dogs and takoyaki. They're better eaten while hot.
Dessert and drink corner, and ice cream
The dessert corner has a chocolate fountain and marshmallows that kids love, plus pain au chocolat, garlic bread, assorted cakes and fruit. The cakes were fairly moist and soft, which I thought was good even among buffet cakes.

The drink corner had soda, coffee, tea and water, and next to it there's soft serve, bingsu (shaved ice) and slush.

What surprised me most was the huge choice of ice cream! From sorbet to rich chocolate ice cream and bead ice cream, I thought you could be happy eating just the ice cream.
What was good at QooQoo Chuncheon
I took a lap around the buffet and filled my plate with what I wanted. At QooQoo Chuncheon, I recommend the raw salmon sushi.

Raw salmon sushi, Gwangyang beef sushi, beef brisket mussam rolls
The salmon slices on the raw salmon sushi are a bit thin, but that actually makes them light and easy to eat. They're clean with no fishy taste, so you keep reaching for more. The Gwangyang beef sushi had a faint smoky aroma and was tasty, and the beef brisket mussam-mari (rolled in pickled radish wrap) has a spicy sauce, so it's good as a palate cleanser. The seasoned raw crab is also quite spicy, so be warned.

Soy-marinated shrimp that won over my sister
My sister said the soy-marinated shrimp was so good because it wasn't salty or fishy. It was really good when I tried it too, and I went back for it several times.

Beef brisket bean sprout stir-fry, guobaorou, ribs, pasta
The beef brisket and bean sprout stir-fry tasted exactly like the bar snack version, so I enjoyed it, and the scorched-rice guobaorou (sweet and sour pork) was crispy outside and tender inside, which was fine. The garlic butter shrimp was grilled moist, and the ribs had more meat than I expected and tasty seasoning.
The bite-size steak comes as tteok-galbi (grilled rice-cake-style patty) with potato salad, and it's a really good combination, so I think kids would like it too. The crab cream sauce pasta has a nicely savory sauce, so if you dip chicken in it, it's like cream sauce chicken.
The en croûte soup was served warm, which was nice. It's hot, so please use the tongs when you pick it up.
Ox knee soup, eaten in hopes my nose bone heals
I recently broke my nose bone, so I brought a bowl of dogani-tang (ox knee soup) hoping the bone would heal well. The ox knee was soft and chewy and the broth was mild and tasty. It's even better with salt and pepper.

In the middle I brought cold buckwheat soba and clams steamed in alcohol to refresh my palate, and those were good too.
Finishing with an apple jam waffle and hot tea
For the final dessert I had a waffle, and it's just like an old-style street waffle, so good! The butter cream and apple jam combination was the best.
The drinks are nice, but after eating a lot, hot tea hits the spot. There were many kinds, like green tea, rooibos, strawberry and hibiscus, so I brewed what I liked.
Is QooQoo Chuncheon worth going back to?
It had been a while since I'd been to QooQoo, and the menu was more varied and the food more satisfying than I expected. The raw salmon sushi and soy-marinated shrimp were especially good, and the dessert variety meant picking things right to the end was fun. If you're looking for a sushi buffet in Chuncheon where you can enjoy many kinds of food in one place, QooQoo Chuncheon Branch is worth a visit.
