Sunny's Pizza Market (써니스피자마켓) is a pizza place on the second floor of a building near Randy's Donuts in Yeonnam-dong. I had a really good pizza meal at this Yeonnam-dong pizza favorite!

The original main shop was in Suji, Yongin, and it won the Blue Ribbon three years in a row, so it's a proper local favorite. Apparently they've just moved the main shop to Yeonnam-dong, Hongdae. Opening hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., closed every other Monday.

What's the atmosphere like at Sunny's Pizza Market?

The Yeonnam-dong shop is a clean, white-toned space with plenty of tables. I went with a friend in the evening, and the owner told us they'd only been open for three days since moving to Yeonnam-dong.

When it gets a little dark in the evening, they change the lighting to set a nice mood.

The shop is pleasant and cool, great for eating pizza, and good in lots of ways. The owner is also really kind. Lots of delivery riders seemed to be coming and going, and the tables in the middle of the hall can apparently be pushed together for groups. We saw a group of more than 10 that day.

Sunny's Pizza Market menu and prices

Pizzas come in three sizes, P, R and L. The single-serving P size is around ₩10,000 and R is in the ₩20,000s. There are plenty of kinds: cheese, margherita, pepperoni, Hawaiian, potato, combination, scallion shrimp and more. At around ₩10,000, the P size is a really good deal.

R-size pizzas are in the ₩20,000s.

The 13-inch L size costs ₩4,000 more, and the cheese crust is ₩3,500. Half-and-half pizzas are available too.

Depending on the flavor, a little extra is added as an option fee.

There are also sides like oven pasta and buffalo wings.

Cola is ₩2,000 and Cass draft beer is ₩3,900.

When you eat in, utensils and sauces are self-service. There's a good range: pickles, garlic sauce, Parmesan cheese, hot sauce, red pepper and more. Plastic gloves are provided too, so you can just pick up a slice and eat comfortably!

Is a large half-and-half pizza with draft beer enough for two?

My friend and I ordered a large half-and-half pizza (₩27,300) and two Cass draft beers (₩3,900 each). For the halves we chose Sunny's Combination (₩2,000 option) and Scallion Shrimp (₩3,500 option).

A large half-and-half pizza and a beer each. The pizza was honestly so good that we had a really fun time. They said Sunny's uses only handmade pizza sauce and natural cheese, and it tasted better than I expected. The large is, as you'd guess, quite big for two people, so we left a few slices, and they packed them up kindly. Very happy.

Draft beer is ₩3,900 per person. It's Cass draft, so why was it so good? It came packed to the brim in a plastic cup, kind of American-style?, and the volume felt generous too. Pizza and beer, of course. Pizza calls for beer.

The large pizza is 13 inches, which is pretty big. The smell of the freshly baked pizza was wonderful. The golden rule of pizza is stretchy cheese! They use only natural cheese, and the mozzarella pulled out in long strings. Oh yeah.

Good, good.

The dough was chewy and tasty too, and I was satisfied with the whole thing.

How does Sunny's Combination pizza taste?

Sunny's Combination isn't the usual combination with olives, bell peppers and onions. It's a meat-party pizza loaded with pepperoni, ham and other meat. I really enjoyed this combination.

With this much cheese and meat, how could it not be good?

The toppings are generous, and the amount of cheese feels big too. The tomato sauce was good and I enjoyed it.

What does Sunny's Pizza Market's scallion shrimp pizza taste like?

Every slice of the Scallion Shrimp pizza is topped with plump shrimp and roasted scallion, with crushed red pepper sprinkled on top. It's an unusual pizza, and scallion on pizza is hard to find elsewhere, but it had plenty of charm too.

The shrimp were fairly big with a strong shrimp aroma, so it tasted good. Scallion is an unusual pairing, but roasted scallion is tasty, so it works well. Maybe because it's kind of an Eastern combination?

Personally, I enjoyed the meat-heavy Sunny's Combination more. A satisfying evening. Yeonnam-dong pizza favorite ~
