Angry Potato Hyundai Department Store Jungdong Branch is a new shop on B1 of Hyundai Department Store Jungdong in Bucheon, where you can try all kinds of snacks made from 100% fresh potatoes. I had been eyeing it since it opened, and I finally visited, haha. The fries and the chewy potato balls were delicious! 😆

Angry Potato: from pop-up store to permanent shop

Angry Potato Jungdong first came in as a pop-up store, and I hear it became a permanent shop because it was so popular!

I actually saw people lining up during the pop-up, so I was so happy to see it open as a real shop :) !!

On one side, cute mini burger buns were being baked,

and the freshly fried potato chips looked absolutely gorgeous too. They had me wanting a beer right away.. Everything on the Angry Potato menu is potato-based, so it goes really, really well with soda or beer 🤤

What is on the Angry Potato menu?

The Angry Potato menu includes fries, chewy potato balls, fresh potato chips, cheese sticks, chicken, mini burgers and more. Today I chose the chipotle pulled pork fries and the chewy potato balls! Next time I want to crush the mini burgers or the chips too✨ I was too full for more, so this was enough for me..

How do you use the sauces at Angry Potato?

At the back of the shop there were as many as 8 kinds of sauce! You just pour them on yourself. It's fine to pour on plenty...>.<

If you like crispy fries and prefer to dip, just buy a sauce cup and fill it up to take with you!

My fries, frying in clean oil... They fry them again as soon as you order, so you get them crispy! It's an open kitchen, so you can see how hygienic it is, which put me at ease ☺️

How did the pulled pork chipotle fries taste?

The Angry Potato pulled pork chipotle fries came with a ton of sweet-and-salty pulled pork. The combination of spicy chipotle sauce and pulled pork.. I don't even need to say it, it was so good!

The pulled pork was very tender and the sauce had soaked in well!

The fries themselves were piping hot, and for someone like me who loves bold flavors, they were just right. The Angry Potato chipotle sauce is really tasty too >.<

What is the texture of Angry Potato's chewy potato balls?

Potato-starch style snacks seem to be trending these days, so lots of orders for the chewy potato balls came in even while I was waiting. That made me look forward to them even more!

I diligently poured on 4 of the sauces prepared at the back of the shop: chili / hot / wasabi mayo / white cream. All the sauces were delicious. I recommend trying several : )

The chewy potato is, literally, a potato ball with an incredibly chewy texture. It's a bit like tteok (Korean rice cake), but with a nuttier potato aroma wafting off it..? I love chewy textures, so even plain, picking them up and eating them was delicious, haha.

They went so, so well with the sauces, and all the Angry Potato sauces were delicious ♥

When should you stop by Angry Potato?

With snacks made from 100% fresh potatoes, Angry Potato is a good Bucheon City Hall Station spot to stop by when you get hungry shopping at Hyundai Department Store Jungdong or when you're going to a movie.
