I'd been to Choi Woo-young Gogiya a few times at lunch, and the value and the taste were so good that this time I brought my family~ The big plus is that all the meat is grilled over charcoal and brought to you, so you can just eat in comfort. Ordering a meat dish also gets you ssambap, doenjang jjigae and seasoned raw crab, so honestly it's a BBQ place with top-notch value.
Corkage is free for up to 2 bottles, and soju, beer and sake are only ₩4,000, so I really recommend it if you're looking for a company dinner or group gathering spot in Gasan.

Inside Choi Woo-young Gogiya and the group seating

The inside of Choi Woo-young Gogiya was spacious and pleasant. Daeryung 6 is an office building, so I assumed it would be quiet on weekends, but there were lots of families! There's also group seating where you can all sit in one long row to eat.

What comes as the basic table setting at Choi Woo-young Gogiya?

The table setting has generous, neat side dishes, unlimited wrap vegetables, and even seasoned raw crab as a freebie, which is honestly the best part. Every table also has minced chili sauce, salt, wasabi and pepper~
The self-service bar at Choi Woo-young Gogiya

At the self-service bar you can help yourself to more side dishes, and there are fresh vegetables like chamnamul (pimpinella), perilla leaves, napa cabbage and green leaf lettuce.

There's tasty ham buchim (pan-fried battered ham) too, and on top of that, the rice is unlimited as well!
Four of us ordered 4 servings of pork belly and 2 of short rib meat

What we ordered at Choi Woo-young Gogiya was 4 servings of pork belly and 2 servings of short rib meat~ The original post lists the order as pork belly 200g ₩10,000 and short rib meat 150g ₩10,000.

We cut the pork belly into bite-size pieces. There are onions underneath, and eating them together is a perfect match!

The pork belly here is thin, but the meat is tender and the fat is chewy, so it was delicious.

The beef short rib meat was thick, and the more you chewed, the nuttier and cleaner-tasting it got!

Pork belly and short rib meat! Such a generous spread, right~ While we were eating the pork belly, the short rib meat had probably cooled a bit, so we warmed it up together. It comes out already cooked over charcoal so you can eat it right away, but if you want to keep eating it warm, just put it on the grill like this!
Clam doenjang jjigae served free
The clam doenjang jjigae is a freebie too! Hard to believe something this hearty, in such a big portion, comes as standard.

The rice is unlimited, which is great, and it was delicious mixed into the doenjang jjigae~
Dessert: cold buckwheat noodles or handmade nurungji?

The dessert handmade nurungji (scorched rice) at Choi Woo-young Gogiya is ₩3,000. I couldn't decide between naengmomil (cold buckwheat noodles) and nurungji, and went with the warm nurungji! For just ₩3,000 the portion is a steal, and it was a lovingly made, tasty nurungbap (scorched rice porridge) that the whole family liked! It's the perfect way to finish off a meat meal.
Who is Choi Woo-young Gogiya recommended for?
I recommend Choi Woo-young Gogiya for Gasan office workers at lunch, for company dinners and group gatherings in the evening, and for family get-togethers on weekends. I'd go back!
- Anyone who loves meat: families, coworkers, friends, couples
- People looking for a good-value BBQ place near Gasan Digital Complex Station
