Handmade burgers at Seonyudo Station: hash brown THE BAS Burger
In short
BAS Burger Seonyudo is a handmade burger restaurant right outside Exit 4 of Seonyudo Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. On a first visit, we had THE BAS Burger with a hash brown (₩12,500) and a BAS Burger set (₩11,700, plus ₩4,000 to switch to a cornflake milkshake), and the self-bar's handmade James-gam potato chips were free and unlimited. With juicy patties, soft buns and bottomless chips, BAS Burger Seonyudo is a good-value handmade burger spot.

I was looking for a good place near Seonyudo Station with a friend, and we wanted handmade burgers, so we went to BAS Burger Seonyudo (바스버거 선유도점).
BAS Burger Seonyudo: location, hours and parking
BAS Burger Seonyudo is at 118-1 Yangpyeong-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, on the first floor, right outside Exit 4 of Seonyudo Station, so it's easy to get to. It's open daily 11:00–21:30 (last order 21:00). There's no parking, so you'll need to use a nearby public car park.

Being right in front of the station made it easy to find, and it's also a handy spot to grab a takeaway on the way to Seonyudo Park.

Is BAS Burger Seonyudo good for eating alone?
The burgers came out faster than I expected, and I saw other people eating alone, so it looks like a good solo meal spot near Seonyudo Station. I assumed a handmade burger place would take a while, so the quick service was a nice surprise. I get the feeling lots of office workers from the area stop by at lunchtime!

Are the James-gam potato chips at the self-serve bar unlimited?
The BAS Burger self-bar has handmade potato chips called James-gam (제임스감), and they're free and unlimited. They're crispy and savory, a really great perk for anyone who loves potato chips. They go well with beer too, so this looks like a decent place for a casual beer near Seonyudo Station.

The self-bar also has ketchup, mayonnaise, pepper, napkins and more, so just take what you need. I heard you can sample drinks and beer at the pickup counter. Seemed like a nice spot for a light beer with your burger!

What we ordered at BAS Burger Seonyudo and prices
- BAS Burger set ₩11,700
- Cornflake milkshake swap +₩4,000
- THE BAS Burger ₩12,500

How does THE BAS Burger with hash brown taste?
THE BAS Burger (₩12,500) comes with two beef patties, two slices of real cheddar cheese, a hash brown, tomato, onion and house sauce. The thick patties, rich cheese and crispy hash brown made it extra filling.

THE BAS Burger looks much more generous than the regular BAS Burger. The crispy hash brown adds a crunchy texture, so it's fun to chew! The patties, cheese and hash brown go really well together, and personally I liked THE BAS Burger better than the basic one.

How was the signature BAS Burger set?
The signature BAS Burger (set ₩11,700) had fresh vegetables and a juicy patty. The natural flavor of the ingredients really came through, and you get that handmade burger taste from the first bite. It felt like a proper, classic handmade burger!

The patty was great, but the soft, tasty bun made the BAS Burger even more satisfying!

This was my first visit to BAS Burger, and it was so much better than I expected that I wondered why I hadn't come sooner! The patty was juicy, the bun was good too, and with the unlimited chips, I think it's a good-value handmade burger place.
Dipping fries and chips in the cornflake milkshake
The fries in the BAS Burger set are fried to order, so they came out hot and crispy. They're salty and tasty on their own, and good dipped in ketchup, but I ordered the milkshake specifically to dip them in! Sure enough, salty fries in a sweet shake was the best sweet-and-salty combo.

The James-gam chips were warm too, and their crunch kept me reaching for more. They go well dipped in the cornflake milkshake as well, so I dunked the chips in the shake a lot, haha.
