Busan noodle shop, ₩1,000 double bibim, thin mandu: Seomyeon Milmyeon

Seomyeon Milmyeon (서면밀면) is a long-running milmyeon (Busan wheat noodle) restaurant at the former NC Department Store intersection near Exit 8 of Seomyeon Station in Busan. On a weekday evening the writer walked in with no wait and ordered mul milmyeon (cold noodles in broth), a double-portion bibim milmyeon (spicy mixed noodles) and mandu (dumplings) at the kiosk. The rich warm broth, the icy mul milmyeon and the mandu skins thin enough to see the filling stood out. Verdict: a double portion is just ₩1,000 extra, and the mandu at Seomyeon Milmyeon is a must-order.
