What is the atmosphere at Modak Texas Barbecue Dongdaegu?
From the entrance, the big glass windows and exotic feel caught my eye. It looked like a restaurant you'd find on a trip abroad, so I was excited before we even went in.
Inside, Texas flags and all kinds of decorations were placed here and there.
The whole place is done in wood tones, and it really feels like an American country restaurant! The atmosphere alone is charming enough that it seemed perfect for a date (*^▽^*) The tables are spaced generously too, so it looked good for family meals or get-togethers near Dongdaegu Station as well.✨
Menu and the June ₩10,000 pasta event
The menu is more varied than I expected: signature steaks, Texas barbecue platters, set menus and pasta! There are set menus that suit couples or families, plus pasta that's easy to enjoy for a casual lunch.
On top of that, if you join the review event during June, you can get any pasta for ₩10,000! It's a steak place, yet the pasta prices aren't a burden either, so I thought it would be nice for a casual visit too 💸
How does the tomato stew served after ordering taste?
As soon as we finished ordering at Modak Texas Barbecue, they brought out a tomato stew. I wasn't expecting much, but the rich broth had a fresh tomato tang and a faint spiciness rising at the end, and it was much tastier than I thought. I kept reaching for it while waiting for the mains 🍅
Is the 340g ribeye steak enough for two at lunch?
Since it was lunch, I figured ordering a barbecue set would be too filling, so we ordered a ribeye steak and aglio e olio pasta (garlic and oil pasta). And then the main dishes finally arrived!
🥩 The 340g ribeye was so much bigger than expected that my partner and I both went "Huh?" at the same time.😮 We ordered it to keep lunch light, but the portion was really generous.
The ribeye had an appetizing sear outside and stayed juicy and moist inside. When I cut a bite, a rich beefy aroma filled my mouth, and the tender, not-tough texture was impressive. Personally, my favorite way was putting a little wasabi on top 💛
The fries that come with the ribeye
The ribeye comes with fries! Crispy outside and fluffy inside, they were great to nibble between bites of steak. Honestly, fries, what can I say.. 🍟 The portion was generous too, so it felt less like a side and more like ordering an extra dish.
Does the aglio e olio pasta go well with the steak?
🍝 The aglio e olio at Modak Texas Barbecue had a subtle oil aroma with a strong punch of garlic. It wasn't harsh, and the seasoning was just right, so it paired well with the steak. It balanced the heavy flavor of the meat and finished things cleanly, so I found the combination quite satisfying.
The ghee butter tenderloin fire show
When you order the ghee butter tenderloin steak, one of the signature dishes, a staff member puts on a fire show right in front of you!🔥 We ordered the ribeye, so sadly we could only watch, but next time I'd really like to try the ghee butter tenderloin too.
Roasting marshmallows after the meal
Modak Texas Barbecue isn't just a steak spot near Dongdaegu Station; it also has a fun extra to enjoy after your meal! Roasting marshmallows!
Even when I buy marshmallows, it's hard to finish them in one go, so I liked getting just the right amount here. My partner and I messed around competing over who could roast them prettier, and it was really fun.😊 It's a light, easy finish right when you're craving something sweet!
