Gabrisal pork with cold noodles at a Dong-gu, Gwangju bar: Ju

Ju Myeongdang is a Korean bar with private rooms in Dong-gu, Gwangju, tucked on the 2nd floor behind the ACC parking lot. The Auntie's Table set brought three cuts of meat — straw-fire galbi, aged pork belly, and gabrisal — with doenjang stew, seasonal bibimbap, and cold noodles, paired with Kooksoondang rice makgeolli, and the gabrisal was especially tender. It's all for under ₩50,000, making it great value for a spread this generous.

Private parking date-night restaurant in Seo-gu, Gwangju: Bueokgan

Bueokgan Sangmu Branch is a European-style brunch restaurant with a terrace in Seo-gu, Gwangju. The writer parked in the building's own lot out back and ordered basil pesto cream pasta, kung pao chicken pilaf, and pastry soup, finding the chicken thigh meat generous and the pasta never got heavy even to the last bite. With its calm atmosphere, it was the perfect spot for a blind date or date night.
