Old-school Suwon kalguksu restaurant with geotjeori refills: Daseon

Daseon Kalguksu Main Branch is a long-running, old-school kalguksu (hand-cut noodle) restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro near Suwon Station in Gyeonggi. Arriving at 5pm just as break time ended, the writer ordered Daseon kal-nakji (noodles with octopus) for two at 16,000 won in the basic flavor with broth, added a plate of suyuk (boiled pork) at 15,000 won, and got a refill of the geotjeori (fresh kimchi). The spicy kal-nakji and mild suyuk filled in each other's gaps, so Daseon Kalguksu is a satisfying stop for anyone who loves hot, brothy dishes.
