Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch (만포갈비 의정부본점) is a charcoal-grilled pork galbi restaurant at the entrance to Uijeongbu new town in Gyeonggi. On a weekend family visit booked through Naver, the writer ordered handmade marinated galbi for 2 (32,000 won), brisket doenjang (soybean paste) stew and handmade LA galbi for 1 (25,000 won), with neat side dishes and complimentary naengmyeon (cold noodles) to finish. Manpo Galbi even set out baby tableware in advance, making it a family dining spot worth revisiting.

After-work bakery café in Yangju: double espresso and pear tea, Doasis

Doasis is a large bakery café in Deokjeong, Yangju, housed in a remodeled old bathhouse building. On a weekday around 7–8 PM after work, the writer sat on the 2nd floor, picked out plenty of bread, and ordered a double espresso (₩6,500) and a pear, bellflower root and quince tea (₩8,000) made less sweet. Even a few hours before closing Doasis still had a wide bread selection and especially good espresso beans, making it a solid after-work stop for bread and coffee.

With its dusk lighting and dense Basque cheesecake, Forerest is a good Uijeongbu café for unwinding after a stressful day.
