Songdo Central Park bakery: dairy-cream white castella, Tomoru
In short
Tomoru Bakery (송도토모루베이커리) is a bakery near Songdo Central Park, on the 1st floor of the Acrya building on Haedoji-ro in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. On a first outing in 55 days, the blogger bought basil tomato bread, white castella and Basque cheesecake, two of each, and finished the white castella on the spot because its filling is real dairy cream, not vegetable cream. With both trendy and old-school breads, Tomoru Bakery also makes a good pick for a gift for mom.

My mom watched the baby so I finally had my first outing in 55 days! I stopped by Songhyeona to play and, since I wanted to bring my mom a gift too, came to Tomoru Bakery, a well-known bakery near Songdo Central Park.

Parking and seating at Tomoru Bakery
You can park in the underground lot of the Acrya building — the basic 20 minutes can be reset once, and they said they'd add another 20 minutes on top of that.
The exterior of Tomoru Bakery was so pretty! There are several Tomoru locations, and it seems like it's basically a guaranteed good bakery wherever you find it. The owner-chef of the Songdo branch has earned the title of Master Confectioner of Korea, plus a gold medal in cake decoration and an award from the Incheon Skills Competition. Songdo Tomoru Bakery has two tables outside, and one table inside the building too!

You grab tongs and a tray and pick whatever bread you feel like, and since there's a table right there, you can eat inside the building too.
How many kinds of bread does Tomoru Bakery have?
I filmed the whole place and honestly, there are so, so many kinds of bread!

Tomoru Bakery's refrigerated case
First I photographed the refrigerated breads. They also sell fresh cream cake, honey castella, rice roll cake, cream puff bread, white castella, fresh vegetable croquette, and cream mammoth bread. The cakes especially looked amazing. The peach sand and mango sand were both loaded with fruit, and I decided I should get a cake for my next birthday!

The indoor bread display
The indoor breads had, oddly enough, a cucumber baguette, plus rye fig bread, corn campagne, olive ciabatta, basil tomato bread, coconut cream cheese bread — these meal-replacement breads were all generously sized and reasonably priced, so I'd recommend them. And there's Mont Blanc, corn panettone, butter scones, chocolate scones, egg tarts, Basque cheesecake, pie manju, pecan pie, croissants, apple pie, blueberry pie, sausage croissant, pastry pizza bread, autumn leaf pizza bread and more — pretty much whatever bread you're looking for, they have it!

They even had my favorite, kkwabaegi (twisted doughnut) — not many places sell those these days! There's also garlic bread, and salt bread of several kinds — plain, garlic cheese salt bread, bacon potato salt bread. Chestnut bread, pound cake, mocha bread, Dubai chocolate baguette, pollack roe and scallion baguette — every trendy bread right now and every old-school bread, all in one place.

Basil tomato bread: a meal or a snack
The first thing I bought was the basil tomato bread. I've loved this bread for a long time — the cheese, salty tomato and basil inside go so well together, and it works both as a meal replacement and as a snack! It's also large and priced very reasonably.

White castella filled with real dairy cream
Second was the white castella. People born in the 90s will know this one — I ate a ton of it back in the day, and it's trendy again now so lots of places are selling it. But last time I bought it at a café it wasn't made with real dairy cream, which was disappointing — Tomoru's, though, was completely dairy cream! So I ate it so happily. Highly recommend this one too!

Rich, dense Basque cheesecake
Last was Basque cheesecake. Normally I'd have gone for an egg tart, but since I'd just had one recently, I picked cheesecake for a change. The Basque cheesecake was thick, dense and delicious. I bought two of each so I could share with my mom.

A gold medal in cake decoration, an award from the Incheon Skills Competition, a gold medal in the Korean-bread category at the 2021 Seoul International Bakery Fair (SIBA), a gold medal at the Korean rice bread competition, a top prize at the Korean wheat, bean, and grain idea contest, the 2024 Incheon Mayor's Award, an award from the Rural Development Administration, and an award from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. So many awards!! No wonder every single bread here is good.

Why Tomoru Bakery is worth a return visit
Every kind of bread was delicious, and there are so many varieties that whether you want something trendy or old-school, they'll probably have it! Hahaha. The white castella especially comes very highly recommended. The cream inside wasn't vegetable-based but real dairy cream! I'm a dairy cream addict, so I'm not a big fan of vegetable cream 😭 I finished it in one sitting! So good. My mom loved it too and asked me where I bought it!
I don't know when, but if I get another chance to go out next time,,! I definitely want to visit again. Especially next time, I want to get a cake for my birthday! It looked so full of fruit that it'll probably be amazing 😍
