I went to Resting07 a few days ago. It's well known as a date restaurant in Dongseong-ro and has been a beloved spot for years. I'd walked past it plenty of times while out in the city center. I happened to be hungry and curious about the taste, so I dropped in while I was nearby.

Inside Resting07 and its private-style rooms
The inside of Resting07 is white-toned, classic and cozy, with three separated, private-feeling spaces at the back that work like individual rooms. I climbed the stairs to the 2nd floor, and there it all was.

The tables are nicely spaced, so it was comfortable to eat, and thanks to the private rooms it'd be a fine place for a family meal or a group gathering. The restroom was really clean too, which kept my mood up the whole time.
We visited around 1:30 PM on a weekday. Even though the lunch rush was over, guests kept coming in, so you could really feel how popular it is.

We got lucky, there was a spot open at a private-room table, so that's where we sat. We started with warm bread and olive oil with balsamic vinegar to take the edge off our hunger.

What's on the menu at Resting07?
Resting07 is a Western restaurant near Daegu's 228 Park where you can try pasta, rice dishes, pizza, salads and more. The rice menu alone has plenty of options, like chicken, pork neck and kimchi pork.
I'm a rice person, so having so many rice dishes was totally my style. With so many items, there's a wide range to choose from.

Prices are mostly reasonable too, so choosing felt stress-free.

To taste a bit of everything, I generously ordered three dishes: the quattro formaggi pizza, gamberi (shrimp) pilaf and steak cream pasta.

I'd skipped breakfast that day and was starving, so I was really happy that the food came out faster than I expected.

Quattro formaggi pizza, dipped in honey
Resting07's quattro formaggi is a pizza made with four cheeses, with a rich cheese flavor and a plain, clean-tasting dough. I dug into it first, quickly.

It looked golden and appetizing, and you could practically sense the nutty richness just by looking at it.

The moment it hit my mouth, the cheese flavor came right through, and the dough was plain and clean.

It's fine on its own, but I dunked it deep in the honey that came with it, and the sweetness blended in beautifully.

Steak cream pasta: any gamey smell in the meat?
Resting07's steak cream pasta was generous with beef and mushrooms, and the meat had no gamey smell at all. I usually prefer creamy dishes, so it was exactly my taste, and I could see why it's been recognized as a go-to near 228 Park for so many years.

I loved that the beef and mushrooms were added so liberally, and they gave plenty of sauce too, so the richness was just right.

The noodles were cooked well, and I savored them dipped in loads of sauce. It was honey-sweet good, and I caught myself smiling.

I'm sensitive to gamey meat, so I was glad there was no off smell whatsoever. The texture wasn't tough either, just soft and moist, and it melted in my mouth.

Next time I come to Resting07, the Dongseong-ro date restaurant, I'm definitely ordering the steak cream pasta again. I made that vow right there.

Gamberi pilaf, a flavor everyone likes
Resting07's gamberi pilaf had great seasoning and savory depth, the kind of taste nobody would dislike. It was loaded with mushrooms, plump shrimp, bell pepper, onion and more.

Sure enough, it was packed with ingredients, which made eating it even more fun.

Resting07 near 228 Park: how is it for a meal?
True to its reputation as a Dongseong-ro date restaurant, Resting07 impressed me with its calm, cozy atmosphere and tidy, clean-tasting food. It's a great spot near Daegu's 228 Park for an easy, no-fuss meal.
