In short

Here's a Bucheon Korean set meal spot where you get a generous spread in a calm, quiet setting: Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch.
Where is Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch?
Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is a Jakdong favorite on the Wonmisan eating street, between Bucheon Stadium Station and Kkachiul Station. It sits in natural scenery close to the city, so the air is fresh and the atmosphere is lovely ✨

Is parking easy?
There's plenty of parking in front of the building, and parking attendants are on duty during busy peak times. I parked easily and walked right in!

How were the weekday lunch wait and seating?
I came at weekday lunchtime and, as expected, the hall was packed. This Bucheon restaurant often has a wait, but tables turn over quickly so you don't wait long 😇
The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, with big windows that make it bright and comfortable. There are lots of seats, from standard 4-person tables to group seating, so it works for dates, family meals and group gatherings alike!
How should you order at Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang?

There's a wide range of Tteuranchae set menus, including borigulbi (barley-dried yellow croaker), charcoal-grilled pork and grilled mackerel, so you can pick to taste. You can order a main as a full set, or if you want less main dish, order the basic Tteuranchae Bapsang and add a single dish for a cheaper meal 👍🏻
What I ordered: Tteuranchae Bapsang for 2 + charcoal-grilled pork
I got the basic Tteuranchae Bapsang for two, with 12 banchan (side dishes), cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) and stone pot rice, and added charcoal-grilled pork! Even though a Kkachiul spot like this usually means a wait at peak times, I think you don't wait long because the food comes out fast and tables turn over quickly!👍🏻

How are the stone pot rice and sungnyung?
The stone pot rice comes freshly cooked and warm. The rice is fluffy and really good 😋
Scoop out the rice and make sungnyung (scorched rice tea)! With the weather getting suddenly colder, being able to have sungnyung too makes this a Bucheon Korean set meal place for a hearty meal 👍🏻

Can you get refills of the 12 banchan?
You get 12 banchan made with seasonal ingredients! The side dishes are made in-house by hand and aren't harsh or heavily seasoned, so it feels like home cooking 🤗

All 12 banchan can be refilled at the self-bar! The one catch: the japchae (glass noodle stir-fry) and cheonggukjang aren't well kept at the self-bar, so if you ask the staff directly they bring them over 😋 The self-bar even has rice, so if the stone pot rice isn't enough you can refill 👍🏻

How was the charcoal-grilled pork I added?
The charcoal-grilled pork is domestic pork neck aged in a house-made marinade, then given a smoky finish over real charcoal, they say. It's pork anyone from kids to grandparents will like 👍🏻
The tender, mildly sweet marinade is rich in flavor and makes the rice taste even better!

A self-bar rice refill, and cheonggukjang too
I finished the stone pot rice with the charcoal pork and banchan, then refilled rice at the self-bar and ate it with the cheonggukjang. The cheonggukjang here is deep and savory, a real rice thief that goes down easily even when you're already full from the stone pot rice.

I finished with sungnyung, which warms you up even more! I was about to burst from the generous spread, but everything was so good I couldn't eat less,, it's a Bucheon Korean set meal place that makes you overeat 👍🏻 There's a reason it's always packed with customers :)
Is Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch worth going back to?
Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch gives you a filling meal with a healthy, generous spread. The food is good, the staff are friendly, and you can tell they take hygiene seriously, so it's my go-to place that I keep visiting.
If you're looking for a Jakdong or Kkachiul favorite, how about Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang~? I recommend it as a Bucheon Korean set meal place that's satisfying in both taste and atmosphere 😊
