Unlimited soju event at Jugeokjip in Pyeongtaek

Visiting Jugeokjip in Songtan

On an exciting weekend, I went out and, on the way back, used the excuse that there was no food at home to visit Jugeokjip, a great spot in Songtan :)

Jugeokjip unlimited-soju event notice

But what?! Jugeokjip is currently running a free unlimited-soju event—you can drink 10 bottles, 100 bottles, even 1,000 bottles, and it is unlimited. I had heard that restaurants do not make money on food and make their margins on alcohol, so I thought this was impossible, but it was true....!!!!!!!

Spacious seating for group gatherings, too

The interior is very spacious, too. There are tables for four as well as group seating, so it seems like a nice place for family get-togethers and company dinners.

At the very back, there is also a private space where just your group can enjoy a meal, so keep it in mind if you are planning a company dinner or group gathering :)

We visited after making a reservation for the slightly awkward(?) time of 4 p.m. They had our table completely set up right on time.

Side dishes and self-serve bar items

There were so many side dishes, too: salad, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), seasoned shredded radish, soft tofu, yeolmu kimchi (young radish kimchi), pickled chili peppers, acorn jelly salad, cabbage for wraps, and seasoned raw crab!! The side dishes were impressive enough to rival a Korean restaurant.

There were also various other sides, including seasoned scallion salad, pickled radish wraps, and kimchi, at the self-serve bar, so you can comfortably take as much as you want.

Is this a buffet or a barbecue restaurant? There are even dessert(?) items like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), cream soup, corn, and marshmallows, so you need to arrive with plenty of room in your stomach.

Three servings of fresh pork belly and an extra-order discount

With unlimited soju and all those side dishes, I wondered whether the meat would be expensive. But fresh pork belly was ₩18,000 for 200 g, which felt like such good value. They also have their signature Jugeoksal and prime beef short ribs, and after you order according to the number of diners, any additional orders are an incredible 50% off. Seriously, amazing!!!!!!! It is no secret that my husband picked this as a company-dinner spot.

Our three servings of fresh pork belly arrived. Each serving is 200 g, for 600 g total—no wonder it looked like such a generous amount, right?

It browned beautifully over charcoal, cooked quickly, and gained a smoky flavor that made it even richer. The meat was nicely thick, too, so the texture was great.

It was delicious on its own, but even better with the wrap vegetables or side dishes that came with it.

My meat-loving husband was busy nonstop putting deliciously grilled pork belly wrapped in greens into his mouth.

Signature Jugeoksal and galbisal

We also tried Jugeoksal and galbisal, the signature menu items at Jugeokjip, a great Songtan spot. Once I tried them, I immediately understood why they are signatures.

They were tender and soft, melting away in the mouth with a texture almost like beef. We finished our generous dinner with the doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) we received through the event, and headed home feeling good.

Free ice cream to finish the meal

It is not over until it is over. Jugeokjip, a great Songtan spot, also offers free ice cream for dessert, which made it even nicer to refresh our palates after a summer meal. I strongly recommend Jugeokjip for family meals, group gatherings, and company dinners :)
