Hanti Station hair salon volume magic for a leftover perm: TONI&GUY

In short

TONI&GUY Daechi is a hair salon on the 6th floor of a building near Hanti Station in Daechi-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. The writer had a cut and volume magic (a Korean straightening treatment that keeps volume) from designer Dohwa to tame a patchy, frizzy leftover perm; the root and crown volume stayed while the curl and frizz in the mid-lengths and ends were smoothed out. Volume magic at TONI&GUY Daechi suits anyone who wants an old perm relaxed naturally rather than pressed flat and pin-straight.

My old perm had been growing out in a patchy way, and every time I dried my hair the whole thing looked frizzy. This time I wanted to deal with the leftover perm without my roots getting plastered flat, so I tried volume magic at TONI&GUY Daechi, near Hanti Station.

How do you get to TONI&GUY Daechi from Hanti Station?

TONI&GUY Daechi is on the 6th floor of a building about 228 m from Hanti Station Exit 1. It's close to the station, so it was easy to reach by subway, and the building was easy to find!

Go up to the 6th floor and you reach an entrance with a big TONI&GUY logo. The ivory sign with its warm lighting goes nicely with the gray walls, so the whole place felt clean and stylish.

The salon name is clearly marked at the entrance too, so it was easy to find.

The moment I walked in, TONI&GUY Daechi felt clean and tidy.

Treatment area separated from the waiting area

The waiting area is separate from the treatment area, so waiting never felt crowded or messy, and the treatment space is fairly roomy too.

How do you consult about relaxing a leftover perm while keeping volume?

Pre-treatment consultation with designer Dohwa
Consultation before volume magic

I had this volume magic with designer Dohwa at TONI&GUY Daechi 🖤 In the consultation she first asked about the current state of my hair and what bothers me day to day. I told her I wanted to relax the old perm naturally, but didn't want the pin-straight look stuck flat from the roots. I also said I wanted the leftover curls and frizz from the mid-lengths to the ends tidied up, while keeping natural volume at the crown and around my face!

Checking hair condition during the consultation
Pre-treatment check of damaged areas

Designer Dohwa first checked my hair condition and the damaged areas, then we decided to go with keeping the roots from getting pressed down while calming the mid-lengths and ends.

Before: a patchy leftover perm

Frizzy, puffed-out back of the hair before treatment

This is my hair before the treatment.. The old perm was lingering here and there, so the texture was uneven and frizzy-looking (sob). From the front, the volume at my roots had flattened a lot, but the curls on the sides and ends were all different, which made my hair look even puffier. When I took a photo of the back, the perm was even more irregular than I'd thought..

How did the cut and volume magic go?

Cutting to tidy the ends

Applying volume magic solution and straightening

At TONI&GUY Daechi, they first trimmed the length and damaged ends with a cut, then moved on to volume magic. My ends were uneven and bulky from the old perm, and she shaped the overall line cleanly without cutting off much length 🖤

After the cut came the volume magic itself. She applied the solution carefully to suit my hair condition, waited long enough, then straightened my hair smoothly. The focus was on keeping volume at the roots so they didn't stick flat, and on calming the leftover perm and frizz from the mid-lengths to the ends.

Premium shampoo chair with massage function

A long treatment made easier by the massage shampoo chair

TONI&GUY Daechi has a premium shampoo chair with a massage function, so my body stayed comfortable even through the long volume magic session. Volume magic takes a long time, and sitting that long can make your neck and shoulders stiff, right!?? But while getting my shampoo I could lie back comfortably and get a massage too, which was so nice haha. My body, stiff from sitting so long, loosened up 👍🏻 I felt almost no strain on my neck or back, so much that I nearly fell asleep, lol.

After: natural volume magic that doesn't go pin-straight

Neat hair beside the face after volume magic

This is how it looked after!! What I liked most about the volume magic at TONI&GUY Daechi is that the leftover perm and frizz were tidied up neatly, yet my hair didn't get pressed pin-straight! Natural volume is still alive at the roots and crown, and the hair falling beside my face is soft and neat, so everything feels much lighter 💇🏻‍♀️

Calmer back view after volume magic
Back of the hair after treatment, texture lined up in one direction

The back view especially showed a clearer difference from the before photo. Before, the leftover curls made my hair look bumpy and puffed out overall, but after the volume magic the texture is calmly lined up in one direction and the shape looks much cleaner ✌🏻

TONI&GUY × Kérastase head spa event and first-visit discount

Notice for the TONI&GUY Kérastase head spa event

I hear TONI&GUY is running a Kérastase head spa event from July 1 to August 31, 2026. It's a program for scalps tired from oil and heat in the hot summer, and you can try it for a ₩59,000 trial price, once per person. I'd recommend it to these people~!

  • People bothered by an oily scalp in summer
  • People worried about crown odor and a stuffy scalp
  • People interested in systematic scalp and hair-loss care
  • People who want to restore their scalp's oil-moisture balance

Also!! They apparently have a standing discount for first-time customers.

  • First-visit discount on regular treatments: ₩30,000 in total
  • First-visit discount on a cut: ₩3,000 in total
  • Extra benefits by tier when you buy a membership
  • Ask the salon about conditions and whether discounts can be combined

Who I'd recommend volume magic at TONI&GUY Daechi to

If your perm has relaxed unevenly like mine and your hair looks bulky, or you want natural volume magic that doesn't stick flat, I think a consultation with designer Dohwa is worth a try 🖤 Thank you, Dohwa, for such careful and comfortable work from start to finish ♡ It's close to Hanti Station so it's easy to reach, and the salon atmosphere and even the shampoo chair were comfortable, so the long treatment wasn't a burden. It's a place I'd like to come back to next time I tidy up my hair~!
