Esthetia Gwanggyo 1st Branch is a skin and body-care studio in Gwanggyo, Suwon. After a consultation for sensitive skin, I tried its Head & Neck treatment from the scalp to the face line with very little discomfort. Verdict: a reassuring option to consult first if strong contouring treatments feel daunting.
Ryu-eun is a fusion Korean bar in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, where traditional liquor and Korean dishes are served together. I had charcoal-grilled jokbal and Korean beef daedoritang for dinner, plus a 10,000 won non-alcoholic lemon squash, in its calm second-floor space. Verdict: a lovely choice for a meal and a drink in Haenggung-dong.
Sum (숨) is a large bakery café surrounded by nature in Namhansanseong, Gwangju, Gyeonggi. Before a family gathering, I explored its main building, annex, and rooftops with my husband over vanilla bean lattes, café lattes, and black sesame pound cake. Verdict: Sum is a relaxing weekday stop for mountain and sky views.
Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch is a café at Starfield Suwon in Suwon, Gyeonggi. Its black sesame latte was rich and nutty without stirring in the cream, while the strawberry latte had satisfying pieces of fruit. A great takeaway break between shopping and work.
