Dongtan kimchi stew restaurant: giant egg roll with ketchup, Yangpuni

Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal (양푼이김치찌개&삼겹살) is a Korean restaurant specializing in kimchi stew and pork belly in Bansong-dong, Dongtan, Hwaseong, near Dongtan Central Park. The writer had the kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) set for dinner with her husband, who loves spicy Korean food, and was impressed by the big chunks of meat, the stew kept simmering at the table to the last spoonful, and one of the biggest complimentary egg rolls she has ever had. Verdict: Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal is recommended for anyone looking for a spicy Korean dinner in Bansong-dong.

Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a large brunch and bakery café in Majeong-ri, Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi. A couple visited Chat Baker at the weekend peak and stayed for hours with their laptops, enjoying jazz played on LP records and salt bread. The parking lot was nearly full, but there were seats to spare on the 2nd floor, and late-afternoon sunlight streamed across the green interior. If you want a large Anseong café to settle into for a long stay, Chat Baker is worth timing for sunset.
