Uijeongbu lunch spot open-run: 2-person set & udon at Yangchonri

Yangchonri Donkaseu Millak Branch is a third-generation Western-style pork cutlet restaurant on the 2nd floor of Jeil Pungyeongchae Centum in Millak-dong, Uijeongbu. Arriving right at opening, the writer tried the 2-person Set No. 1 (pork cutlet + charcoal-grilled octopus rice bowl + 2 fried shrimp) and the grandma-style udon, finding the thick cutlet, smoky octopus rice, and anchovy-broth udon all satisfying. The place fills up fast at lunchtime, so getting there early is key.

Seafood haejinsanhaeng-style hotpot with porridge in Pocheon

Haepumgye is a seafood hotpot (haesintang) specialty restaurant at the Hasongwuri intersection in Songwu-ri, Pocheon. The writer ordered the Haepum Haesintang (₩70,000), made with a whole domestic chicken, octopus, small octopus, shrimp, and seasonal shellfish, cooking vegetables and fish cake shabu-shabu style before adding ₩5,000 for porridge simmered in the broth with sticky rice and minari. With a playroom and baby chairs on site, it's a great spot to recover your strength with kids in tow.
