Café with a baby in Yangju: changing table and choco coco at Doasis

I visited Doasis, a big café in Yangju. It's a converted bathhouse, and it turned out to be far bigger than I expected. I was happy with both the drinks and the bakery.

Is parking easy at Doasis in Yangju?

Doasis has a large parking lot, so parking was easy 🙌 These days I always bring the car when I go on drives, and anyone driving out to Yangju can visit without worrying about parking.

I'd heard about cafés converted from bathhouses, but this was my first time actually visiting one, so it felt fascinating. I kept thinking, "This was a bathhouse?!" haha

What are the menu and prices at Doasis?

At Doasis, an americano is ₩4,500 and the brunch plate is ₩10,000. Honestly, ₩4,500 for an americano was a first for me at a big café. And a brunch plate for only ₩10,000,,,! We'd already eaten before coming, so I decided we'll come for brunch next time. My beloved brunch,,,,

This is the Doasis menu. They sell pizza as well as drinks. I always order an iced americano ("ah-ah" in Korean café slang) whenever I go to a café, so the drink was decided right away!!!

What breads does the Doasis bakery have?

Doasis also sells bakery items like white roll, green tea injeolmi (chewy rice cake), walnut black sesame and choco coco, so I started browsing the bakery 👏

My favorite white roll was right by the entrance, so I grabbed one immediately >.< There was green tea injeolmi bread too, and walnut black sesame, the kind of thing older folks would like. My chocolate-lover husband couldn't pass up the choco coco, so he took one, and we went on with the happy dilemma of what else to pick.

Besides the breads, there were desserts like madeleines, sangtu gwaja (topknot-shaped cookies) and cookies. I thought the ₩4,500 iced americano was reasonable, and the bakery items and desserts were fairly priced too.

I was curious about the soufflé cream cheese, so I grabbed that too, and there were Pororo drinks for babies in several varieties. Our baby can't have Pororo drinks yet. I want her to hurry up and reach the age of trying everything so we can enjoy it together, but also I want her to grow up slowly,, my baby,,,

They also sell bottled beer to go with the pizza, so it would be a nice evening date spot for pizza and beer.

What is the interior of Doasis like?

The inside of Doasis is full of plants, so it feels like an arboretum. While waiting for our drinks I looked around, and it was truly like an oasis, full of fresh greenery. I kept wondering how an indoor space could feel so much like an arboretum. From this point our baby was excited and toddling around, and she was so cute.

The tables come in many shapes, so there are seats for each preference: families with babies like me, couples on dates, and parents.

And isn't this lush forest(?) at every seat so healing too 🌿 Even without going far, it felt like we'd traveled far. Our child was happy and my husband and I felt refreshed without trying.

Is Doasis a good café to visit with a baby?

Doasis has plenty of high chairs, a baby room with a diaper-changing table, and floor-seating tables where babies can crawl. Maybe because Yangju has lots of babies, there were plenty of high chairs for guests with little ones. Above all, there's a baby room with a changing table for diaper time, so it's a baby-friendly café where moms can visit without worry.

There are also floor-seating tables where babies can crawl around freely, and I was very happy about that.

How is the iced americano at Doasis?

The iced americano at Doasis was nutty and strong, with no sourness. While we were looking around the café, our iced americanos came out. Since the price is lower than other big cafés I didn't expect much, but the nutty, non-sour flavor and really strong coffee satisfied our iced-americano-loving family right away. A caffeine transfusion for bodies worn out from parenting ✨

Doasis has a garden in the middle with seats circling around it, so you can see the garden from every seat. Drinking coffee feels roughly like this~~~~ We liked it, but above all the baby giggled and loved it too. It really felt like we'd come on a drive.

The breads we picked at Doasis and how they tasted

At Doasis we picked a white roll, a cookie, a soufflé cheesecake, a choco coco, Yangju bread and a cream cheese brioche. I hadn't planned on getting this much bread, but I took one white roll that I like, one cookie that my husband likes, one soufflé cheesecake and so on, and it turned into a whole bundle. A proper bread-lover certification,,,,,

From the Yangju bread, which I picked thinking it would make a good gift and thinking of my parents, to the cream cheese brioche, I filled the bag with bakery items that suit our tastes.

The choco coco is, as the name says, full of chocolate, so it was a proper sugar recharge, and together with the iced americano it was a perfect transfusion.

My favorite white roll was full of cream, and I enjoyed the cream aroma filling my whole mouth. My husband doesn't usually eat white rolls, but that day he said it was delicious and ate it up >.<

Doasis in Yangju: a forest outing close to home

With the weather getting cooler lately I'd been wanting to go to Jeju Island, and Doasis felt just like Jeju. No need to go far: we healed close to home, our child conked out and fell asleep right away, and my husband and I fell asleep looking through the photos we took at the café haha

Maybe because the space is so big, they said they plan to open it for party and small wedding rentals. Both the 2nd and 3rd floors are large and the seating is widely spaced, so it looked like a good large café in Yangju for hosting events ✨
