Valley-themed bar in Gangnam: chicken feet tteokbokki at Arigyegok

I always end up at the same kind of bar near Gangnam Station whether it's a friend gathering or a date, but this place was next-level from the concept down to the food — honestly one of the most satisfying places I've been to lately 👏🏻

This is Arigyegok, the unique bar that's been blowing up on Instagram and blogs lately.

What the valley-themed interior looks like

Walking a little from Gangnam Station toward the food alley, I found Arigyegok easily! The exterior looks so classy that I paused before going in.

From the entrance, a distinctive, refreshing valley vibe filled the interior — such a unique, character-packed design.

The inside is spacious and the atmosphere is so good that it was full of variety — big Gangnam Station groups drinking happily together, couples on cozy dates, and friends hanging out too.

The whole vibe was lively and full of atmosphere, which made drinking together so much more fun.

The three dishes we ordered at Arigyegok

We went ahead and ordered the three signature, most popular main dishes at Arigyegok.

Mud duck jeonbyeong (19,900 won)

Honestly, out of everywhere I've been recently, this was hands down the tastiest — a crazy-good dish…

The whole duck comes out generously, and the portion was so massive I was shocked once, and then shocked again by the unique, luxurious presentation.

I'll say this just once… if you like duck, this is an absolute must-order.

Chicken feet oil tteokbokki (14,900 won)

I love both chicken feet and tteokbokki, so this dish was completely my taste!!!

The chewy texture of the chicken feet is perfectly there, and the spicy-sweet oil tteokbokki sauce clung to my mouth like it belonged.

Just spicy enough, super addictive sauce — I couldn't put my chopsticks down. The rice cakes were chewy too, and the combination with the chicken feet was fantastic!

We'd both had Peking duck not long before, and this surprised us even more — much cheaper than Peking duck, but just as generous and delicious.

Wrapping the duck — crispy outside, tender and moist inside — in the jeonbyeong (thin savory crepe), the nuttiness that burst in my mouth was pure art ㅠㅠ

Beef tripe soft tofu hot pot (23,000 won)

You can't skip a soup dish, so we ordered this hot pot — and it's basically a magic drinking-summoning dish 🍻

It's loaded with whole pieces of savory beef tripe, along with soft, fluffy tofu and a generous helping of jjolmyeon (chewy noodles)!

The spicy, deep hot pot broth soaked into the noodles and tripe so thoroughly that one sip made me want to down soju or a highball immediately. It settles your stomach too and is just a perfect score as a drinking snack 💯

Is Arigyegok Gangnam worth a visit? Tips before you go

All three dishes we ordered exceeded expectations and came in generous portions, so my friend and I kept exclaiming in delight while getting pleasantly drunk!

Thanks to the exotic, pretty valley-themed interior, photos come out great too, and the food quality outshines a lot of dedicated restaurants — I've already decided to bring my boyfriend back here soon!
