When we got to Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch around 7pm on Friday, we sat down right away with no wait. The inside is a spacious open hall. But guests kept coming in while we ate, and the hall filled up fast. For a Friday evening, I recommend booking through Naver or calling ahead!

When you order at Manpo Galbi in Yangju, the side dishes get spread across the table, and yukhoe and yukjeon were among them! It was the first galbi restaurant I've been to that gives you both yukhoe and yukjeon as sides, so I was happy from the very start. haha
Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch also has a self-serve corner, so if you run out of vegetables or side dishes you can help yourself to as much as you like, which was handy too.
How was the handmade marinated galbi?
The handmade marinated galbi at Manpo Galbi had a sweet-and-salty marinade that wasn't too salty, with charcoal aroma on top. The moment it arrived, the portion was already generous. The meat looked fresh at a glance, so I was excited before it even hit the grill.
It's grilled over charcoal, so the meat really picks up that smoky flavor.
One bite and the marinade is sweet-and-salty without being too salty, and with the charcoal aroma added, I couldn't put my chopsticks down. ㅠㅠ The meat is thick too, so with 3 servings between the two of us I was seriously about to burst.
My boyfriend said it was delicious and just kept eating without a word. haha
Free Hamheung naengmyeon and beef brisket doenjang stew

The beef brisket doenjang stew I ordered to finish was nutty and rich and went well with the meat. From marinated galbi to yukhoe, yukjeon and doenjang stew, we left stuffed after a full course~

Seeing customers keep filling the place even on a Friday evening, I figured this was already a proven Yangju meat spot among locals. Considering the generous portions and the yukhoe and yukjeon freebies, ₩19,000 a serving isn't a waste at all, so next time we plan to bring my parents and revisit Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch as a Yangju family dining spot!
