Weekday afternoon eel and pork BBQ with dad in Siheung: Songnim Bok

Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel Siheung Baegot Direct Branch is an all-you-can-eat freshwater eel and pork barbecue restaurant in Siheung Baegot, Gyeonggi. Straight off a flight from Fukuoka, the writer and her dad hit the restaurant at 3pm, refilled four plates, and finished with bibim makguksu (spicy cold buckwheat noodles). A place where eel lovers and pork lovers can both walk away happy.

Weekday dinner near Iseongsanseong, Hanam: Jigueseo On Jjukkumi

Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch is a perilla-oil jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried webfoot octopus) restaurant near Iseongsanseong fortress in Hanam, Gyeonggi. Visiting on a Monday around 6pm for the perilla-oil jjukkumi set for two, the spacious parking lot, garden, and group seating tucked behind the restrooms made it feel roomy enough for a family dinner or work gathering. Smoky, spicy jjukkumi with nutritious hot-stone rice, perilla oil, and free coffee and ice cream for dessert — genuinely generous value.
