Dog-friendly BBQ buffet in Yeongjong: eel, sirloin, churros, Jangsodam
In short
Jangsodam Yeongjong Direct Store (장소담) is an all-you-can-eat eel, beef and pork buffet on Haneuljungang-ro in Yeongjong, Incheon, where dogs are allowed indoors. Over a late lunch with her husband and their dog Pudding, the writer ordered Set B (eel, sirloin and pork) for 2 at 34,000 won per adult and tried the thick eel, tender sirloin, the self-bar and the special dish of churros with condensed milk. Verdict: Jangsodam's eel beat expectations for a buffet, and the soft-serve ice cream makes a better dessert than the churros.

I'm an Incheon native and a newlywed in Incheon! I heard there's a place where you can eat eel, beef and pork all-you-can-eat in one go, so I went. It's Jangsodam, an all-you-can-eat spot in Yeongjong, Incheon. I lowered my expectations a little because it's a buffet, but the quality was better than I expected, so I'm sharing it with you!
The place is spacious and clean with plenty of menu variety, so I'd recommend it for family meals or anyone looking for a group dinner spot in Yeongjong. Dogs are allowed too, so I went with my husband and our dog Pudding~! Here's my honest take. Let's go, gogo~!

How do you get into Jangsodam?
At Jangsodam you're supposed to get guidance from the staff, have your party size confirmed and get a table assigned before you go in. They also check ages, so please look at the notice in the restaurant~!👀✨️ Since Jangsodam Yeongjong Direct Store allows dogs, anyone planning to visit with a dog should check the notice too~!
Jangsodam's atmosphere and dining with our dog
The inside of Jangsodam was spacious and kept clean. The tables have plenty of room, so it works well for eating with a big group. We went late for lunch and there were still lots of customers.
If you're looking for a group dinner spot or a family meal place in Yeongjong, Jangsodam is worth a look. They're also running a promotion where reservations of 10 or more get 1 bottle of bokbunja per table. If you're planning a group gathering or company dinner, grab that reservation perk~!
We visited with Pudding, and the best part was that Jangsodam allows dogs, so you can eat with your pup. When you look for places to eat out with a dog, the options can be limited, so I loved being able to spend time together at an eel BBQ restaurant🐶💛
Also, serving robots deliver everything to your table by themselves, which was a fun little bonus.

Jangsodam set prices and how the buffet works
Jangsodam is a buffet where you can enjoy eel, beef and pork all-you-can-eat. The name Jangsodam apparently means "to hold eel and beef"! There are several set options, so order whichever suits your taste. Each table is stocked with scissors, tongs, a charcoal fire extinguisher, eel salt, a bottle opener, a T-order tablet, small plates and cups.

You order through the T-order tablet~ And if you leave no leftovers, you get 5% back in points!👍

Which grill plate to use for each meat
- Wire grill: dakgalbi (spicy marinated chicken), pork galbi (marinated pork ribs)
- Coated plate: pork belly, pork neck, pork skin
Matching the plate to the meat makes everything taste better~!

How long is the time limit at Jangsodam?
At Jangsodam, you get 120 minutes for eel and beef, and 100 minutes for pork. The charcoal fire is strong, so the time was plenty! With all-you-can-eat, you get not just meat and eel but also a well-stocked self-bar and made-to-order special dishes, all free.
Free special dishes at Jangsodam
At most buffets the self-bar food is made in advance and often goes cold, but at Jangsodam the dishes are made right when you order and come out warm, which I liked! You order the special dishes through the T-order tablet.
The special dishes are: eggplant fries, french fries, kimchi pancake, gimmari (fried glass noodle seaweed rolls), bite-size pork cutlet, chewy potato balls, cotton-candy-style tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), cream shrimp, fried rice, onion rings, chicken, churros with condensed milk, and kongtteok (bean rice cakes)! There's everything from kid-friendly dishes to sides that go well with meat and dessert items. It suits anyone who wants lots of different food in one place.
How do you order more meat at Jangsodam?
After you finish the meat that comes with the set, for beef and eel you pick the items marked ₩0 within your set on the T-order tablet to reorder, and for pork you grab whatever you like from the self-bar and enjoy more!
What we ordered: Set B (eel + sirloin + pork) for 2
We ordered Set B (eel + sirloin + pork) for 2 at Jangsodam. I wavered between beef and pork, and went with pork!
What's at the Jangsodam self-bar?
Before the real feasting, let's look at the Jangsodam self-bar, stocked with banchan (Korean side dishes) and sides. There's chalsundae (glutinous sundae, Korean blood sausage) and dotorimuk (acorn jelly).

There's also pasta and dubu kimchi (tofu with stir-fried kimchi).

There's white rice and ingredients for making rice balls.

The lineup has unusual items you rarely see at other all-you-can-eat places, which I found fascinating!👀✨️ There are also soft drinks, coffee and plum tea.

Side dishes and sauces
Now the side dishes and sauces. There's green onion kimchi, soy-pickled perilla leaves, ssamjang (dipping paste), chive kimchi, shredded ginger, white kimchi and garlic.

There are also Cheongyang chilies, ssam radish (pickled radish wraps), napa cabbage kimchi, pickled chili strips, sliced onion, shredded scallions with scallion sauce, spicy sauce, eel sauce, onion sauce, salt, roasted soybean powder and pepper! A really wide spread.
Pork self-bar
With all-you-can-eat at Jangsodam, you fetch the pork yourself from the pork self-bar from the start. There are plates on the top shelf, so put it on one of those!
Let me quickly run through what the pork self-bar has! Camping pork neck, chestnut pork belly, traditional galbi, cheese rice cakes, salt dakgalbi, teriyaki dakgalbi, spicy dakgalbi, tteok-galbi (minced rib patties), handmade sausage, HanDon (Korean pork) marinated honeycomb pork skin and fruit-aged galbi.
Lettuce and wrap vegetable self-bar
And that's not all! You all know to take only as much as you'll eat at a self-bar, right? Going back for small amounts often helps you digest a little in between and creates the conditions (?) to eat more, so don't overdo it, just take what you'll eat🤙
There are king oyster mushrooms, grilling scallions, green lettuce, perilla leaves, enoki mushrooms, sliced potato, sliced sweet potato, red leaf lettuce and baby napa cabbage! The vegetable variety is seriously solid👀✨️
Ramen and dessert corner
And that's still not all! Ramen is also all-you-can-eat at Jangsodam, so just as you start feeling greasy from the meat and eel, ramen is perfect for a quick refresh! Finishing with cookies and soft-serve ice cream is simply perfect☆ On the right there's a water purifier and baby chairs.
Now that the self-bar tour is done, time to actually eat, right! I also tried the tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) I grabbed from the self-bar, and it was a real treat, with a spicy sauce and plump, well-cooked rice cakes.

After ordering, the robot served our basic setup like this: the banchan, sirloin and eel.

Let's stuff ourselves along with the wrap vegetables my husband brought over!
How did Jangsodam's Set B sirloin, eel and pork belly taste?
Sirloin: medium thickness, tender and clean-tasting
We started with the sirloin and eel that come with Set B at Jangsodam! Sirloin first. The fire is strong, so it turned golden quickly. It wasn't too thick, just the right thickness for a light grill.

It wasn't stiff or tough, but mild and tender, and lightly grilled with that charcoal aroma it was nutty and delicious!

Eel: 2 eels to start, thick and not fishy
Next, the eel I'd been waiting for! Ta-da! Set B at Jangsodam comes with 2 eels to start. It was thick, and the quality was better than I thought, which surprised me.

There was no gamey or fishy smell at all, and the eel's nutty, rich flavor was really there! For all-you-can-eat eel, the quality was better than expected.
Two sauces come out: a basic sweet one with a teriyaki feel, and a spicy-salty one, and both had their charm. It's good just dipped in the sauce, wrapped in ssam radish or pickled perilla leaves,

or topped with chive kimchi or shredded scallions, and you never get sick of it, it just keeps going down🤤 I happily stuffed myself with all kinds of combinations>_<🤍

Self-bar pork belly: perfectly fine
After neatly finishing the sirloin and eel we were given, I also brought a strip of the pork belly I'd been curious about from the Jangsodam self-bar and grilled it. No gamey smell, decent and enjoyable. (The eel is tastier, whisper whisper)

Are Jangsodam's churros with condensed milk worth ordering?
The churros with condensed milk, one of the Jangsodam special dishes, is fine as a kids' snack, but the ice cream was better as dessert. You can't skip the free special dishes! After some deliberating, I saw a review saying the churros were good, so I ordered the churros with condensed milk.
It came out as freshly fried, crispy churros with plenty of condensed milk poured over. It tasted very different from the churros we eat at amusement parks..! It wasn't a delicious dessert, but it's full of sweetness, so I think it's fine to order as a snack for kids!

I also tried a combo with the soft-serve ice cream from the self-bar, and by my own personal standards it was decent! For dessert I'd recommend just having the ice cream.. haha Next time I'll try a different special dish>_< Another round of stuffing myself, done🙌🙌
Oh! And the Jangsodam counter has toothpicks, hair ties and dental floss, FYI👀✨️
Jangsodam review event
At Jangsodam, they say if you write a Naver review with three photos, you get a free soju or beer! Don't order it on the T-order tablet; just ask for it as a prepayment at the counter, they say~!
Verdict: who is Jangsodam in Yeongjong for?
The biggest plus of Jangsodam in Yeongjong, Incheon, is that you can enjoy eel, beef and pork all at once! With all-you-can-eat you tend to expect less quality, but for a buffet the eel at Jangsodam was better than expected. I could enjoy thick eel without any fishiness, and it was great eaten with a variety of sides like eel sauce, spicy sauce, pickled perilla leaves and chive kimchi.
The self-bar was kept clean too, and I especially liked that the special dishes are cooked after you order, so you eat them warm. The place is big and looks fine for groups, so I recommend it to anyone looking for a group dinner spot in Yeongjong.
And for people who eat out with a dog like we do, being able to bring them indoors is another plus. The staff were so sweet to Pudding that the meal felt even nicer❤️ You get a nice variety of eel, beef and pork as the main event, and the self-bar is solid, so overall it was a satisfying meal.
