I visited Bored & Hungry Mapo, a famous hot spot on Gyeongui Line Forest Park these days. It's said to be the number one craft burger brand in the US, and it's more than just a burger place: you get a hip look and the authentic American taste. I'll review the prices of the signature dishes and my fail-proof combo picks in detail!

Bored & Hungry Mapo atmosphere: a hip American vibe in Mapo

The bright yellow tone and hip characters on the exterior catch your eye, and the whole place feels exotic. I was happy to find such a trendy burger spot in an alley of Gyeongui Line Forest Park.

The inside is neat and hip too, with lots to look at. It's a great stop for a date or when you're out for a stroll.

The classic: O.G Cheese Burger combo, ₩9,400

The O.G Cheese Burger combo is ₩9,400 and is the burger that sticks closest to the basics. Patty, cheese and raw onion work together in a true American-style cheeseburger.

For that friendly price the combo includes one can of Pepsi Zero Sugar Lime, so it's great value. Soda even has free refills, which made me very happy. 😄

The extra-thick Shrimp O.G, ₩12,400

The Shrimp O.G is ₩12,400, and anyone who likes shrimp burgers will love how it looks. The patty is visibly thick at a glance.

The outside is crispy and well fried, and the inside is packed with springy shrimp, so the texture is a work of art. A slightly spicy yet sweet special sauce means you can finish to the last bite without it feeling greasy.

I ordered it for myself, but my son said it was so delicious and gave it a thumbs up 👍.

Side dish pick: addictive corn ribs, ₩7,400

The corn ribs are ₩7,400, and if you come to Bored & Hungry you must try them! They look delicious already, right?

Corn is fried in long rib-like strips and sprinkled with a magical salty seasoning. Dip it in the smooth sauce and it's so addictive that my hand kept going back.

Can kids eat them? Hot wings 6pc, ₩8,400

The hot wings 6pc are ₩8,400, a good side when a burger alone feels like not enough. They're a little spicy, but my kids ate them well.

The chicken wings are very chewy yet crispy, and the spicy-salty seasoning soaks in nicely, so they go well with a burger.

A taste from childhood: vanilla shake, ₩6,400

The vanilla shake is ₩6,400. Soda is nice, but you can't skip a vanilla shake! Its smooth sweetness wraps around the salty burger flavor, a perfect pairing.

It's so thick and smooth that it didn't feel very cold. I finished every last drop!

Would we go back to Bored & Hungry Mapo?
