Birthday dinner at a Daegu gopchang restaurant: Miso Gopchang Wolseong
Miso Gopchang Wolseong is a gopchang (grilled beef intestine) restaurant in Wolseong-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, that hand-trims beef offal slaughtered the same day in Gunwi. For a mother's birthday dinner, the writer ordered the Miso assorted set for two at 25,000 won per person and Gunwi rustic doenjang rice with rice wine at 7,000 won, and was served a complimentary Tongyeong abalone clam soup. The milk-aged daechang and the doenjang rice that the mother scraped clean were the highlights, and since everything arrives pre-grilled and is finished at the table by the owner, you only have to eat.
