The writer and her husband ordered the extra-rich samgye kalguksu with half a chicken, the spicy yukgaejang kalguksu and a half plate of gabrisal suyuk (boiled pork), and Donggok Jemyeon's rich broth and geotjeori kimchi, tossed fresh every day, stood out most. Donggok Jemyeon is a reliable Dongseong-ro pick for solo meals, family dinners and dates alike.

Downtown Daegu Believe Heritage is the Daegu branch of Downtown, a handmade burger brand from Hannam-dong in Seoul, and it is in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu. Offal soup with extra seonji in Manchon-dong, Daegu: Jeju Seobine

Jeju Seobine Haejangguk, Manchon Direct Branch (제주섭이네해장국 만촌직영점) is a hangover soup and gukbap restaurant in Manchon-dong, Suseong, Daegu. On a first visit to the Manchon branch after years at the main branch, the writer ordered naejangtang (beef offal soup, ₩12,000) with extra seonji (congealed ox blood, ₩3,000), served generously on the side, and a Jeju pork loin jumbo tonkatsu (₩12,000) bigger than her hand. The spicy broth and crispy pork cutlet made a filling meal for two at Jeju Seobine Haejangguk.
