Today I'm sharing my visit to Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal (양푼이김치찌개&삼겹살) in Dongtan, where I grilled kimchi and bean sprouts right along with the pork belly. Samgyeopsal (pork belly) is delicious anytime, but when you throw kimchi and bean sprouts on the grill too, it's just so good, right? I even finished with a cold bowl of kimchi malli guksu (cold kimchi noodles). From the pork belly to the side dishes to dessert, this Dongtan BBQ place left me really satisfied.
Where do you park at Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal?
There's space for about 3 cars right in front of the restaurant. If you're driving, check the parking info first.
The lot isn't big, though, so it may be full at mealtimes. If the front is full, find an open spot in a nearby alley, park there and walk over.
A pleasant, clean interior

I liked that the inside was pleasant and clean overall. When I visit a BBQ place, cleanliness matters to me as much as the taste of the food.
Since it's a place where you grill meat, tables and floors can easily end up sticky, but it felt tidy overall, so I could start the meal in a good mood. The atmosphere is comfortable for pork belly, and it looked like a fine spot for a family meal out or a casual meat night with friends.
How much is pork belly at Yangpuni in Dongtan? ₩15,000 for 200g

The pork belly at Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal is ₩15,000 per serving of 200g. There were two of us, so we ordered 2 servings.
These days a lot of BBQ places count one serving as about 150g, so I liked that a serving here is 200g.

We put the thick pork belly on the grill and started cooking in earnest. Pork belly really gets you excited from the moment it starts sizzling on the grill :)
Tidy side dishes and a self-serve bar

The basic side dishes were neat and nice too. They're the kind that go well with pork belly, so it was fun to try a bit of everything.

There's also a separate self-serve bar, so you can freely grab more of any side dish you run out of.
Grilling kimchi and bean sprouts in pork fat: how did it taste?
Pork belly with kimchi and bean sprouts? Can't resist!

Once the pork belly was about halfway cooked, we put kimchi and bean sprouts on the grill too. This combo was seriously good! As the kimchi and bean sprouts cook in the rich fat rendered from the pork, they taste different from eating them plain.
Top a golden-brown piece of pork belly with grilled kimchi and bean sprouts, take a bite, and it's a combo that can't fail!

The slightly tangy, savory grilled kimchi went so well with the rich pork belly. Add crunchy bean sprouts and they cut the greasiness, so my chopsticks kept going back for more. Personally, pork belly + grilled kimchi + bean sprouts was the best-tasting combo of the day.
After the pork belly: refreshing cold kimchi noodles

After the pork belly, we ordered kimchi malli guksu (cold kimchi noodles) to finish. If you enjoyed the pork belly, you can't skip dessert!
After eating so much meat it could have felt a bit greasy, but the cold kimchi noodles left my mouth feeling fresh and clean. They work really well as a dessert after pork belly. I think it would also be tasty to save one piece of meat and eat it together with the noodles :)
Verdict: when you're craving pork belly in Dongtan
Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal in Dongtan was a great place to enjoy pork belly with no fuss in a clean, pleasant space. At ₩15,000 for 200g, the pork belly was generous, and the side dishes came out neatly.
Above all, grilling kimchi and bean sprouts in the pork fat was a really delicious combo. Finishing with the cold kimchi noodles felt like a proper ending! If you're looking for a Dongtan pork belly spot with grilled kimchi, or an easygoing BBQ place in Dongtan, Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal is worth a visit :)
