Seocho gimbap restaurant: tuna gimbap and fried chicken at Halls
In short
Halls Gimbap Main Branch is a gimbap restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, within walking distance of Gyodae Station. After Saturday morning exercise, I took out Jindo green onion tuna gimbap, Halls Gimbap, and Halls Fried Chicken S; the fillings were generous and the chicken was crisp and sweet. Verdict: Halls Gimbap Main Branch is a great pick for tuna gimbap with fried chicken.

After Saturday morning exercise, off to buy gimbap near Gyodae
It had been a while since I exercised on a Saturday morning, and I was in such a good mood that I went to buy my favorite gimbap!

I guess fall really is coming... The sky is so refreshing 🩵 I’m happy on my way to buy gimbap.
Halls Gimbap Main Branch, a short walk from Gyodae Station

Just walk about five minutes from Gyodae Station and you’re there~! There’s a horse-shaped sign, just like the name, so it was easy to find haha.

There were tables set up outside the building too, and I think it would feel so nice to eat outdoors in weather like this~~ 🌿
Solo-dining seats and takeout orders

It has that casual Korean snack-restaurant vibe, right~? There are plenty of seats, so you don’t have to feel awkward dining alone!

There was a long notice posted in front of the register. It seems Halls Gimbap isn’t a new shop—it had been an Xto Gimbap shop for eight years, but changed its name because of a naming dispute(?). A gimbap place that has been around for so long, I was curious haha. And seeing them carefully explain what had happened made me feel like they really value their regulars.

They even sold cup noodles along one wall lol. Gimbap really does need ramen, haha. I got takeout, but if you eat in, keep in mind that katsuo-bushi (bonito flake) broth is available too. Since I was taking it out, I called ahead to order! You can apparently use Naver Booking too, but the reservation system looked like it wasn’t open yet, so I called haha.

There were rubber bands on the table too haha. Nice touch.

The restroom is outside the building, and while I was taking these interior photos, my food was ready~!

La la la 🎶 I wanted to eat it so badly that I ran home lol. I’m like a little kid. Okay, I’ll introduce them one by one. First, here’s the full spread—let’s go.

This looks insanely good~! Even looking at it again, it’s so appetizing...

Can you see it... how packed it is...? There’s only a tiny bit of rice, so I think this would be great even when dieting 🥹 And the portions are huge! There are three rolls with five pieces each! lol The containers look small, but they’re actually quite big haha. Let me show you each piece lol. The ingredients are seriously wild.

Jindo green onion tuna gimbap packed with tuna
It feels like tuna makes up 80 percent of this tuna gimbap. I was going to describe the flavor, but the owner had already introduced it so well that I brought it over lol.

No slippery, mushy texture—just a whole lot of tuna stuffed straight in. Highly recommended for tuna-gimbap lovers!

Halls Gimbap with a lovely crunch
This one is Halls Gimbap! If a menu item carries the shop’s name, I always trust it and order it haha.

The fish cake had a slight kick. The finely chopped cucumber, carrot, and danmuji (pickled radish) gave it such a nice crunch!!! I was totally into it haha.

Halls Fried Chicken S: crisp and sweet
And the fried chicken... just unreal.. 💟 I really love fried chicken, you know?! It was super crisp and sweet, with tender meat. They said it’s made with chicken thigh, which may be why it was so tasty haha. There were chili pepper toppings in case it felt greasy, but just so you know, those are plain fresh chilies with no seasoning lol 🌶️ I like peppers, so I ate them together (though I wouldn’t say they were an amazing pairing), but honestly, the fried chicken itself was totally my style. If you like things crisp and sweet like I do, you’ll definitely find it delicious haha. Sweet and crunchy 🤍🤍🤍
