Bangi-dong solo dinner, mildly spicy pork jowl gukbap: Boseung Hoegwan
Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch is a 24-hour gukbap (rice-and-soup) restaurant at 101 Ogeum-ro in Bangi-dong, Songpa, Seoul. Dining alone, the writer ordered the eolkeun hangjeongsuyuk gukbap (spicy pork jowl soup with rice), which was never overwhelming, just pleasantly sharp to the last spoonful, with the sliced pork jowl and the broth working well in turn. The dining room at Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch is large enough that a solo bowl and a big group meal both feel easy.
