2002 Witch's Arpeggio (2002 마녀의 아르페지오) is an outdoor Korean BBQ restaurant in Wabu-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi, right in front of Myojeoksa Valley, with dogs allowed and stairs leading straight down to the stream. After an earlier visit on a rainy day, the writer returned on a clear autumn weekday, arrived at opening for a waterside table, and ate the jar-aged tomato-jang pork belly (20,000 won), which replaced the old gochujang pork belly, the cheese tomato-jang pork belly (25,000 won), tomato-jang kalguksu (15,000 won) and a 17cm potato pancake for two (15,000 won). Verdict: every dish at 2002 Witch's Arpeggio was a hit, making for a thoroughly satisfying valley-side meal.
Waltz and Dr. Mahn is a large red-brick café on the Bukhangang River in Jo-an-myeon, Namyangju, near Dumulmeori and the Water Garden. On a clear day the writer sat outside with a Vienna coffee and a Coffee Plot Volcano (₩16,000 each) and a seasonal fruit cheesecake (₩9,000), and the river view and antique atmosphere stood out most.
