In short

Dongchuwon Bulgogi (동추원불고기) is a Seoul-style hanwoo (Korean beef) bulgogi restaurant in the court-district area of Hagik-dong, Michuhol, Incheon. The writer arrived at opening time with her oppa and ordered the hanwoo bulgogi set for 2 (28,900 won per person), enjoying it grilled on the brass griddle, shabu-shabu style in the broth and in morning-roll burgers before finishing with dessert naengmyeon (cold noodles) and omija tea. With both private rooms and solo seats, Dongchuwon Bulgogi suits everything from family gatherings to office workers' lunches in Hagik-dong.

I went back to my go-to spot, Dongchuwon Bulgogi in Hagik-dong 💕 It sits in Hagik-dong's court-area district and is a bulgogi place where the whole family can have a hearty, easy meal, so if you're looking for a family-gathering restaurant in Incheon, give it a try 🤍

Where to park at Dongchuwon Bulgogi in Hagik-dong

Dongchuwon Bulgogi covers parking fees at designated and public lots. It's 1 car per table, with 30 minutes free for a meal and 1 hour 30 minutes for a grilled dish, and we used the designated lot across from the restaurant.

Oh, adding energy with a Korean health-boosting dish! Dongchuwon Bulgogi is where my boyfriend and I go whenever we crave a healthy meal, and it's our go-to local spot in Hagik-dong, Incheon.

Dongchuwon Bulgogi interior and the wait at opening time

The Hagik-dong branch has lots of tables, so it's spacious and comfortable. It's almost always full, so we did an open run (arriving right at opening).

The tidy interior put me in a good mood the whole time.

Is Dongchuwon Bulgogi good for family gatherings and groups in Incheon?

Dongchuwon Bulgogi is a great family meal spot because it has private rooms. The private rooms seat 6 to 28 people, and groups of 6 up to 60 can be accommodated.

It's a good setting for family meals, company dinners and group gatherings, so if you're looking for a private-room restaurant in Incheon, I recommend Dongchuwon Bulgogi in Hagik-dong. Family gathering + private room + Korean food + bulgogi = 🤍

There are solo seats too, so it's a good choice for an office-worker lunch. There's also a sink inside the restaurant for washing your hands, which I thought was nice and hygienic 🩵

Dongchuwon Bulgogi hanwoo bulgogi set: price and what's included

What we ordered this day: the Korean beef bulgogi set for 2 (₩28,900 × 2 = ₩57,800), 2 colas (₩2,000 × 2 = ₩4,000) and 1 bowl of rice (₩1,000).

The signature Korean beef bulgogi set comes with Korean beef bulgogi, dessert naengmyeon (cold noodles) and omija tea (five-flavor berry tea). Bulgogi alone is ₩25,000, and ordering bulgogi and naengmyeon separately is ₩34,900, so I recommend the set.

Gat pickle review event and side dishes at Dongchuwon Bulgogi

Among the side dishes that arrive as soon as you order, the gat pickles (pickled mustard leaf) are made from gat, so the savory depth is top notch. Total GOAT! There's a review event where you get gat pickles if you write a Naver review, and they're so good, so definitely join in.

Pickled onions and a salad round out the generous spread. The salad dressing was a yuja (citron) sauce, and it got my appetite going before the bulgogi and made the flavors richer.

Ta-da! The Korean beef bulgogi has finally arrived, feat. the vegetable basket. For October only, download the Naver coupon and order the Korean beef bulgogi to get extra brisket, so don't miss it.

How to grill hanwoo bulgogi on the brass griddle

On the Dongchuwon brass griddle, they pour broth into the side section, and once it starts to boil they put the Korean beef bulgogi in the middle of the griddle ₍՞ • 🐽 • ՞₎ The vegetables go into the broth side.

  • Cook the meat briefly on the griddle, then swish it through the broth like shabu-shabu
  • Eat the broth, enriched by the meat juices from grilling, with the vegetables — a broth and veggie collab
  • Split a morning roll in half and make a bulgogi burger

Ta-da! You can tell it's delicious just from watching it cook! Dongchuwon's Korean beef bulgogi is something everyone from adults to kids will like, so it's really great for a family meal.

Bulgogi grilling tip: always keep red (uncooked) meat on the brass griddle so the plate doesn't burn and you can enjoy the bulgogi to the very end.

Vegetables cooked in the broth and how the hanwoo bulgogi tastes

At Dongchuwon Bulgogi, besides the bulgogi you get vegetables like bok choy, silver ear mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, zucchini and glass noodles, and soaked in the broth and the bulgogi juices, the flavor gets so rich it's out of this world.

The Korean beef bulgogi is full of juice and gets nuttier and richer the more you chew. This is real Korean health food 🩶 The meat itself is tender, mild and nutty.

How to make a bulgogi burger with morning rolls

Dongchuwon Bulgogi serves morning rolls on weekday evenings and weekends, and extras are 3 for ₩2,000. Let's make a bulgogi burger right away, GO GO! Split the roll in half and add bulgogi, cheese and gat pickles, and the burger could stand on its own as a menu item.

Cheers with cola with my boyfriend! Having a happy meal with Korean beef bulgogi.

Dessert naengmyeon, omija tea, coffee and ice cream

The dessert naengmyeon included in the Dongchuwon Korean beef bulgogi set has chewy noodles and a generous portion, whether you pick bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed) or mul naengmyeon (in cold broth). The bibim version comes with broth on the side. Finishing with naengmyeon is the truth. After meat, ending with naengmyeon feels so refreshing.

Omija tea comes out last, so I felt properly treated. One pine nut on top is the highlight! Korean beef bulgogi, then dessert naengmyeon, then omija tea, in that order, felt like a fancy Korean set course, and I was satisfied the whole time in the relaxed atmosphere.

There's coffee and ice cream too, so dessert is covered, and you can have them outside the restaurant after paying.
