Yangyangbada (양양바다) is a sashimi takeout shop on Namun 9-gil in Yangyang-eup. Its 2-person special costs ₩70,000 and comes with free extras like nurungji squid sundae (crispy scorched-rice squid sausage) and sea squirt. On this Yangyang trip I wanted to eat sashimi comfortably at our lodging in the evening, so I looked up takeout shops, and after checking several I ended up at Yangyangbada. Besides the sashimi, the many free extras made the meal even more generous.

Yangyangbada location, hours, parking and reservations

Yangyangbada is at 16 Namun 9-gil, Yangyang-eup, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon, South Korea. It is open 12:00–22:30 every day. For parking, use the park parking lot across the street, and you can reserve by phone.

Yangyangbada, where I stopped to pick up sashimi to eat at our lodging on the trip! It's a takeout and delivery shop, but it turns out it also has indoor seating 😀 And the tank in front of the shop is full of fresh fish and seafood, so you can check the freshness yourself 💙

How was the sashimi packaging?

Yangyangbada packs the sashimi very carefully, so I carried it to the lodging without spilling anything, with the slices still in perfect shape. Freshness matters most with takeout sashimi, so I always look at how careful the packing is! The lodging was close, but the packing was really solid 🧡

Yangyangbada's free extras: nurungji squid sundae and a seafood of your choice

The 2-person special comes with free nurungji squid sundae and a seafood of your choice: sea squirt, abalone or sea cucumber. With takeout sashimi, the freshness of the fish matters, but I also check carefully what else comes with it, and I loved that there were so many free extras alongside the sashimi! Nurungji squid sundae and sea squirt, free,, 💙 I hesitated between sea squirt and sea cucumber, then picked sea squirt!!

Do they include sauces, utensils and lettuce wraps?

Yangyangbada gives you several sauces and utensils, plus clean lettuce wraps. When you take sashimi away on a trip, the thing you worry about most is stuff like sauces and utensils, and with this much included, I think it would be fine even to eat outdoors instead of at a lodging :)

But seriously, how many sauces does this place give you, hahaha! I think they take sauces very seriously!! Ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) with minced garlic is a combo you never get tired of, no matter how much you eat 🫶

Can three people share Yangyangbada's 2-person special?

Yangyangbada's 2-person special is so big and generous that I wondered if it was really for two, and the three of us ate until we were very full. We set it up with beer at the lodging! We still had leftover food from the market earlier in the day, so there were three of us but we ordered for two, and the amount was quite a lot, so we ate until we were really stuffed 😄

Thick East Sea sashimi and a huge sea squirt

Yangyangbada's sashimi comes sliced thick and melts in your mouth, and the sea squirt I picked as the free extra was amazing in both size and amount. East Sea sashimi, what can I even say T_T Thick slices melting in my mouth 👍 Wrapped in lettuce with ssamjang, garlic and even a chili pepper, doesn't it look so tempting?

And can you see the size of the sea squirt? I've never seen one this big, wow, and there's a ton of it too,, The moment it goes in your mouth, it feels like the sea is flooding in. I'm not much of a drinker, but the sea squirt smell was so good that I suddenly craved a glass of soju 😀

The extra that caught my eye most: nurungji squid sundae

Of Yangyangbada's free extras, the one that caught my eye most personally was the nurungji squid sundae. The nurungji squid sundae was also perfection!!! 💖 It's not something you can easily expect in a typical sashimi takeout set, so it felt even more special. Even after finishing the squid sundae we'd bought at the market earlier, the nurungji squid sundae was delicious all over again 👍

Why I recommend sashimi takeout for dinner at your Yangyang lodging

Yangyangbada takeout suits you when you want a relaxed dinner at your lodging without watching the clock. Eating out is great on a trip, but a comfortable dinner at the lodging is lovely too. If you're traveling with a child in particular, you can eat at your own pace without worrying about mealtimes. With sea squirt, lettuce wraps and nurungji squid sundae alongside the sashimi, the meal felt even richer 🧡
