Why did I choose a large rattan bag for travel?

I used to love mini bags, but after having a child, I had more things to bring along and started looking for a larger bag. As I prepared for a trip to a hot country, I chose the Meda Bag Rattan Bag because it would go well with summer clothes.

What were the price, colors, and unboxing like?

The price on Naver Store was ₩19,900. I considered buying one at my destination, but I was not sure whether I would find a bag I liked there, so I prepared in advance.

There were two colors, ivory and brown. I already had a similar bag in ivory, so I chose brown.

After removing the clear plastic, it was wrapped once more in a pouch.

The set I received also included complimentary earrings.

I liked the earrings because they went so well with the bag. I wanted to wear them with a floaty dress at a resort.

I was happy with the set, including earrings, for under ₩20,000.

Were the bag's weight and strap length comfortable?

When I travel, I have lots to bring, such as a power bank, tripod, and cosmetics, so a small bag was not enough. I worry about losing or damaging expensive bags, so this time I chose a rattan bag that was not a financial burden.

When it arrived, the weave felt sturdy, and so did the lining.

The strap was neither too long nor too short for me. It was a comfortable length both to carry by hand and to wear over my shoulder.

What I liked most was the weight. It is a burden when the bag itself is heavy even before putting in travel belongings, but this one felt light when I picked it up.

Does it have a zipper, and does it stay on narrow shoulders?

Rattan bags can be inconvenient without a zipper, but this bag lets you close the opening with a zipper, which made it good for storing my things. It opened and closed smoothly, too.

While getting ready for the trip, I paired it with sunglasses, too. I loved how well they went with the rattan bag.

My shoulders are on the narrow side, so shoulder bags sometimes keep slipping down. This bag's strap has a wide surface area, so it did not slip off my shoulders and stayed securely in place.

How much do a book and small belongings fit inside?

It looks slim on the outside, but when I opened the zipper, the inside was spacious.

There is a pocket inside, which was nice for keeping cards or small cosmetics separately.

There was plenty of room even with a book and glasses case inside. The bag barely sagged when I put things in it.

What were the weave and texture like—was unraveling a concern?

I worried that a rattan bag would start looking messy if the weave began to unravel. But as I used and touched this bag, the weave felt tight and sturdy.

The surface was smooth rather than scratchy, so it felt nice to the touch.

Perhaps because it has added lining, it did not lose its silhouette when I put things in it and seemed to hold its shape. It felt stable even with heavier belongings inside.

Is the design good to carry beyond a resort?

I thought I could carry it often not only at a resort but in everyday summer life, too.

The design is simple, so it was easy to match with different outfits. I also liked that it seemed like a bag I could carry without being too affected by trends.

Because of its breathable weave, I wanted to use it even in hot summer weather. For me, the light weight, wide strap, and zippered storage space were especially satisfying.
