Dongtan chicken-and-beer spot with teriyaki gangjeong: Fix Chicken

Today I went with my boyfriend to one of my all-time favorite chicken spots, Fix Chicken Dongtan Central Park Branch.

Honestly I've lost count of how many times I've been here..

It's not a one-and-done kind of place — it's the spot I keep coming back to whenever I'm craving chicken.

What's the vibe like inside?

For a chicken place, Fix Chicken is really clean and spacious. That's actually one of the reasons I love it — it's so comfortable. Tables have plenty of space between them, so it's easy to sit even in a group. Great for family dinners, friend gatherings, or work get-togethers.

And there's a big screen inside the store‼️ Usually baseball is playing, but during soccer or baseball season it's perfect for watching while eating chicken and drinking beer. Sports fans would probably love this place haha.

The lighting isn't too bright or too dim, so it's nice for a casual chicken-and-beer date with my boyfriend too. It doesn't have that chaotic chicken-shop feel, so it's comfortable to sit for a long time.

Recommended menu: boneless Fix + teriyaki ganjeong half-and-half

Today's order was boneless Fix chicken + teriyaki ganjeong (sweet-savory sauced chicken) half-and-half 🦍 Honestly, if this is your first time here, I'd recommend trying the half-and-half. You get to try Fix Chicken's fundamental fried chicken plus a sauced flavor of your choice — guaranteed win.

What sets Fix Chicken apart is a slightly different cooking method than regular fried chicken. They oven-parbake it first, then fry it in oil, so there's less excess grease while the outside stays crispy and the inside stays moist!

It tastes lighter than regular fried chicken. You actually notice the difference more the more you eat, rather than after just one or two pieces.

It's not greasy enough to get tiring haha. The boneless pieces aren't dry either — they're soft, so we've basically been ordering boneless every time lately.

And the fried rice cakes that come with it are seriously delicious lol. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside — dip them in the sauce and you'll keep reaching for one piece of chicken, one rice cake, one piece of chicken, one rice cake...

The teriyaki ganjeong is sweet and salty, a flavor pretty much anyone would like. The sauce isn't too strong or spicy, so it's great to alternate with Fix Chicken's original flavor. A good menu to share with kids too ❤️

Since the basic Fix chicken is on the lighter side, pairing it half-and-half with a sauced menu like the teriyaki ganjeong is a great balance haha. I've tried a bunch of combos personally, but I always end up coming back to this one.

There's a reason I keep ordering the exact same thing on my Nth revisit 😤

Tips worth knowing before you visit

✅ Go on a day with a sports game. There's a big screen inside so it's great for watching baseball or soccer with chicken and beer. Coming with friends on game day would make for a great vibe 🍻

Fix Chicken is no longer just a new favorite for me — it's more like my go-to neighborhood chicken spot that I visit whenever the craving hits lol. My boyfriend and I have already been here multiple times, and today was delicious as always. The chicken isn't overly greasy and the batter isn't heavy, so it's easy to eat cleanly all the way through — that's the biggest advantage!

On top of that, the store is spacious and clean, and there's a big screen for watching sports, so it's more of a spot to dine in with chicken and beer rather than just get takeout. It's a strong recommendation especially if you're near Dongtan Central Park or Gaenari Park wondering "what should I eat tonight?" or "should I get chicken and beer?" haha.

It seems like there's no such thing as someone who's been here just once — you've either never gone, or you keep going back.. I'm already on my Nth revisit myself 😤 I'll be back again soon. If you're looking for a clean, light chicken spot near Dongtan Central Park, go for Fix Chicken!
