Suji kalguksu restaurant with black sesame ice cream: Dongchundang
Dongchundang Shabu Shabu Kalguksu Sinbong Oesik Town Branch is a Korean shabu kalguksu (hot pot noodle soup) restaurant on Sinbong 1-ro in Suji-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi. A family lunch at Dongchundang ran as one course, from yeolmu (young radish) barley rice to shabu kalguksu with a tofu sandwich topping, mugwort kalguksu and hongmi fried rice, ending with puffed-rice black sesame ice cream on the way out. What stayed with us most was the care for older diners: no kiosk waiting system, 1,000 won off for guests aged 70 and over, and no one-order-per-person rule.
