Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch: location and hours
Today I visited Roi Sikdang (로이식당) in Misa, Hanam. The Hanam Misa Main Branch is at 75 Misagangbyeonbuk-ro 30beon-gil, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi. It's open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Last order is 2:40 p.m. for lunch and 8:30 p.m. for dinner. Check the times so you don't make a trip for nothing!
Maybe because I went on a weekend lunch, there were already quite a few people at midday. It looks like a popular place. I had made a reservation, so we got seated right away. Groups are welcome, and takeout, delivery, reservations and parking are all available!

There are tables for 2, 3 and 4 people, so whether you come in a big group or a small one, you can eat comfortably. Here is Roi Sikdang's menu.

Roi Sikdang menu
The rice bowl (donburi) menu includes Kanto-style sukiyaki to soothe your stomach, yuja salmon jang (yuzu-marinated salmon) made in an earthenware pot, herb-aged salmon bowl, eggplant tempura meat bowl, and beef belly bowl.

For noodles, there's 100% fresh cream mentaiko (pollock roe) pasta, perilla oil Roi soba, king shrimp tempura iced soba, udon with two king shrimp tempura, tempura udon, and plain udon. There's also an extra udon option!

They also sell side dishes and salmon sashimi. Good to add when you're craving raw fish!

Salmon carpaccio, shrimp tempura + gimmari tempura, or a canned drink can be yours if you write a receipt review.

The decorations on the wall are really cute: a kettle and a bag. The yuja salmon jang is on the recommended menu, so I had a hard time deciding.

The restaurant also lists the benefits of yuja (yuzu): boosting immunity, antioxidant effects, aiding digestion and so on. Yuja is a healthy food.
What I ordered: perilla oil Roi soba and king shrimp tempura iced soba
I ordered the perilla oil Roi soba and the king shrimp tempura iced soba. Maybe because it's a hot summer, I was craving cold noodles.

They're running a receipt review event, so I joined and got shrimp/gimmari tempura as a free extra. The perilla oil Roi soba came out first.

There's king shrimp tempura, and a cute tomato sits on top of the cucumber. A nutty perilla oil aroma wafts up, and it's sprinkled with shredded seaweed.

Pickled radish (danmuji) comes alongside too. Crunchy and crisp, it goes well with the noodles. The perilla oil Roi soba was so nutty that I enjoyed it the whole way through. Served as a full spread like this, it gives a warm, home-cooked feeling. I wonder if eating home cooking in Japan feels like this.
How cold is the king shrimp tempura iced soba?
The second dish, the king shrimp tempura iced soba, arrived.

It comes with two king shrimp tempura on top. The broth is full of floating ice crystals. It's a dish that cools you down completely in the heat.

Noodles, ice, and king shrimp tempura too. They went together very well.
The noodles have a really chewy texture. There's radish in it too, so the broth with its faint radish aroma tasted great.

Sprouts are on top as well, which adds a fresh, zesty note.

The perilla oil soba has plenty of perilla oil, so it's very glossy.

I slurped it into my mouth bite after bite. Eating the two dishes alternately made them even tastier! The shrimp in the tempura is really plump.

There was a head part too, and the fried head was delicious. I popped it right into my mouth.

These are the shrimp tempura and gimmari I got from the review event. They came freshly fried, so they were hot and very crispy. The gimmari tempura was really good too.
Who should go with?
Roi Sikdang, a rice bowl spot in Hanam, serves rice bowls and noodles that anyone can eat comfortably. The atmosphere is neat and pleasant, so families with kids and couples can both have a nice meal. There's also a pork cutlet menu for children, and it seemed quite a few parents had brought their kids.
Next time I'm looking for a good place near Misa Station, I'll have to come back to Roi Sikdang!
