Jongno 3-ga Korean BBQ, 2 more belly orders for potato wraps: Cham
In short
Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant specializing in Jirisan black pork and Boseong green pork, on the ground floor of the Piccadilly CGV building near Jongno 3-ga Station in Seoul. Just after lunchtime, the writer had 2 servings of Boseong pork belly and 1 of flower neck. The potato wraps (pork and shiitake wasabi rolled in a potato slice) were so good that they ordered 2 more servings of belly plus potato slices, then finished with Jirisan kudzu naengmyeon. Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch is recommended for rice-husk-smoked pork grilled by staff from start to finish and its potato wraps.

What's the atmosphere inside Cham Dwaejitgan?
Even though lunchtime had passed a little, there were quite a few customers! From older diners to foreign tourists, a real mix of people 👍🏻
Even with lots of people, the seats were wide, so it felt very comfortable ✨

What are the side dishes and sauces?
The basic table setting comes with cabbage salad, garlic chive stems, lettuce and perilla leaves, and seasoned scallion salad. Kimchi, bean sprouts and water dropwort go on the grill!

Sauces are shiitake wasabi, fresh wasabi, spicy sauce, ssamjang, garlic and salt, and the shiitake wasabi is sooo good…! ✨✨✨

How were the Boseong green pork belly and flower neck?
I wanted to try the Boseong green pork here, so I first ordered 2 servings of belly and 1 serving of flower neck (150g) :)

The staff grill the meat for you from start to finish :) Who grills it and how really matters with meat, and they grilled it so well that I gave them a double thumbs-up on the way out!!!

The meat is smoked with rice husks for extra flavor 💫 Just look at the color of the meat here 👀

The meat itself was so good that I tried it with just salt first, and that was so good too..🤍

I had it with fresh wasabi, with kimchi, and in lettuce wraps, eating it all up 🫶🏻 Water dropwort and shiitake wasabi 💚💚💚
How do you eat the potato wraps at Cham Dwaejitgan?
The signature move at Cham Dwaejitgan is the potato wrap! You put meat and shiitake wasabi on a potato slice (₩2,000) and wrap it up. Highly recommended 💚💫💚
So I added potato slices, haha. And 2 more servings of Boseong green pork belly too!!!

They grilled it deliciously once more 🫶🏻

Everyone said the potato slices were so good and wanted to add more, so we did, and the portion was huge, haha 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I made about 3 potato wraps like that and ate them…!
Finishing with Jirisan kudzu water naengmyeon
And to finish, Jirisan kudzu water naengmyeon!!! I ate everything to the very end!

Verdict: is it a Jongno 3-ga pork belly place worth recommending?
If you're looking for a pork belly place in Jongno 3-ga, I recommend Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch!!! Maybe because it specializes in Jirisan black pork and Boseong green pork, the meat is so good... they grill it for you from start to finish, and especially the signature potato wraps! The combo of water dropwort and shiitake wasabi is crazy good!
