Why I went to Labree Hair near Gyodae Station

Labree Hair Seocho National University of Education Branch (라브리헤어 서초교대점) is a hair salon near Gyodae Station famous for its personal hair consulting, so I went there for a jelly perm. I finally have my Labree Hair review for you!! hehehe

I got a jelly perm in December, but my hair had gotten way too long, and between work and raising a kid I had zero time for my hair,,,,,, This time I agonized between a curlier jelly perm and a cut with a C-curl, and since Labree Hair is famous for personal hair consulting 🙂 I decided to go!

The salon is on the 3rd floor of a building on Seocho-daero 46-gil, and it's close to Gyodae Station, so it was easy to get to. I've arrived at the Labree Hair near Gyodae Station!

This is the inside of Labree Hair :) The interior was so pretty and full of charm. The whole place felt clean and comfortable, so even on my first visit I could relax. It felt calm rather than having that hectic salon energy, and the staff were friendly, so I started off in a great mood.

Designer Bada (바다), who I booked and who did my hair, is known for long-hair layered cuts and layered perms 🩵

What does the personal hair consulting at Labree Hair cover?

In the personal hair consulting, they asked about my face shape, head shape, hair condition and even my usual styling habits, then recommended where to put the curls. She said my face shape is a hexagon?, and that the top of my head rises up a bit like a cone head?.

We started with the personal hair consulting!! My hair is seriously long, right? There's still some perm left from before, and it's long and messy 😂🥹

The consultation was way more thorough than I expected. She asked about my hair condition and whether I usually style it, and recommended curl placement to suit my face shape and overall look. She didn't just push trendy styles but explained what would suit me, which made me trust her.

Why I chose a jelly perm over a C-curl perm

After talking with Designer Bada, a C-curl would have suited me too, but I settled on the jelly perm because it's easier to maintain 🙃 She was so calm, considering my head shape, face shape and style as we talked it through together!! Labree Hair's personal hair consulting is the best, love it

Honestly, my biggest worry before the perm was "what if I end up looking like an ahjumma (middle-aged lady)?" ㅠㅠ I searched through tons of trendy jelly perm photos, but the pretty ones all looked like curling-iron curls, and in real life the curls often come out too strong or make hair look puffy, so I was really worried. So during the consultation I showed her photos of the look I wanted and asked for something as natural and easy to style as possible.

How did the jelly perm treatment go at Labree Hair?

The jelly perm was done together with a cut, and the curls were put in with a heat perm. I used a precious half-day off to come,,,⋆⁺₊⋆ Orange juice and snacks too, nom nom. Just stop thinking and relax~~~

She cut my hair too, and explained and checked the length after the perm and my bangs one by one as we went! A heat perm, lol, so funny

How did the jelly perm turn out, and do the curls hold after 2 weeks?

Right after washing my hair I could tell the curls came out well, and about 2 weeks later they're still alive without any styling. Straight out of the wash I felt, this time the curl turned out great haha. The designer said it came out well right away too, lol. Stylists are usually so conservative in what they say, so hearing that made me happy hehe

A jelly perm is a style where the curls stay bouncy and springy, so my face looked a little softer and lovelier. It doesn't look overdone, though, so it's fine for everyday, and even when I tie my hair up the curls stay, so a messy ponytail still looks styled. I love that :)

The Gyodae Station designer Bada also told me how to style my hair haha. I was amazed the curls stayed as they were without any big effort!!! It's been about 2 weeks? and even now I don't need to style it after washing, so it's super easy.

I really love the cut at Labree Hair near Gyodae Station too 🙂 Next time I want to try a layered cut and an S-curl perm~
