Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil is a charcoal Korean BBQ restaurant tucked inside Sharosu-gil near Seoul National University Station in Gwanak, Seoul. After a workout, the writer and her mom shared the couple set of pork belly, pork neck and pork jowl for 48,500 won (down from 50,700 won), plus a bomb egg soufflé and naengmyeon, and even her picky mom praised the meat quality on sight. With plenty of tables and tablet ordering, Gogigupneunsaramdeul works just as well for a group dinner near Seoul National University Station.

Bongcheon Korean restaurant solo octopus dinner: Sangdo Neulbori

Sangdo Neulbori Bongcheon Station Branch is a Korean restaurant near Exit 5 of Bongcheon Station in Gwanak, Seoul, serving barley rice, braised pollock (kodari) and spicy webfoot octopus. Arriving alone at 8pm, the writer ordered the duck bulgogi octopus stir-fry with barley rice, used the self-serve bibimbap salad bar, and added a 10,000 won buckwheat pancake (memil jeonbyeong), with steamed egg, seaweed soup and tidy side dishes included. Sangdo Neulbori is worth a stop when you want warm, home-style Korean food at a fair price.
