Yongnuni Oreum Korean restaurant, brunch with kids: Jongdal Sudatteul

Jongdal Sudatteul (종달수다뜰) is a second-generation farmhouse Korean restaurant near Yongnuni Oreum and Jongdal-ri in Jeju. After checking out of their lodging, the writer ordered the 13-dish Jeju set meal for two as a late breakfast with the kids, and Jongdal Sudatteul happily swapped the braised mackerel for grilled mackerel because the children don't eat the braised version. With grilled hairtail, dombae pork (boiled pork slices) and seafood stew that the kids enjoyed too, Jongdal Sudatteul is a dependable choice for a family trip.

On the last day of a 1-night, 2-day Aewol trip with kids, the blogger made a Naver reservation for around 1 p.m. on a weekday and was seated without waiting despite a nearly full lunch crowd. They ordered dongchimi bibim noodles, bone broth pork noodles and handmade tteokgalbi. With clean-tasting bone broth and full-height windows facing the sea, Handam Guksu is a good stop for families with kids before heading to the airport.

Yangju Korean BBQ, early lunch before Pocheon glamping: Manpo Galbi

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is a charcoal-grilled galbi restaurant on Songnang-ro in Yangju, Gyeonggi, near Nari Park. Before a glamping trip to Pocheon, the writer and a younger sibling had an early lunch of 4 servings of handmade Korean pork galbi (Handon suje galbi), with banchan that included yukhoe (beef tartare) and yukjeon (pan-fried beef), plus free Hamhung naengmyeon and ice cream; an earlier visit around Parents' Day had ended without a meal because ingredients had sold out. Arriving for an early lunch meant Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch was not crowded, making it a satisfying spot for family gatherings too.

Of the three dishes, Polia's classic cream pasta beat both the pizza and the steak, and the kids ate it happily too.
