Why I went solo to the financier spot at Balsan Station
Byway Bakers Balsan Station is a dessert café I visited alone because I heard it was a great financier (small French almond butter cake) spot near Balsan Station. I've been so exhausted and sluggish lately, and I wanted something sweet and a cup of americano.
If I stay home I just keep lying down... (T_T) Life only gets energetic when I move around, right? And I absolutely love sitting in a café by myself. Bingoreu~ haha

How to get to Byway Bakers Balsan Station
The café is about 408m from Exit 3 of Balsan Station on Line 5. Come out of Exit 3, head to NC Department Store, then walk 1–2 minutes from NC toward Yangcheonhyanggyo Station and you'll see it.
It's a great Gangseo dessert spot to visit after shopping at NC Department Store. Hours are 09:00-20:00, it's closed every Wednesday, and there's no parking.
Seating and atmosphere at Byway Bakers Balsan Station

Inside there are about 5 tables for two, and some tables have 3 or 4 chairs, so groups of 3–4 can sit too. Customers keep coming in nonstop.
Lots of people take out, and others enjoy their treats at a seat. It's an open kitchen that keeps turning out all kinds of baked goods without a break, so whenever you visit you can probably enjoy something freshly baked.
Byway Bakers Balsan Station menu and prices

Drinks here range from ₩4,000 to ₩5,500.

Byway Bakers runs about 8 branches around the Seoul metropolitan area and is rumored to be great for financiers and salt bread. But the other breads look so tempting too! I went all in on financiers this time, but I'll try other desserts next time.

You can also find the trendy fruit chapssaltteok (glutinous rice cakes), wakppu salt bread, and the Dubai series that was all the rage for a while.

I haven't tried the fresh fruit chapssaltteok, but ₩4,800 seems like a decent price! Tons of people were buying it. I'd love it if one opened in my neighborhood. The desserts are all things I like, so I could visit every single day, haha.

In the morning there's a good-value set menu, and you can buy the tasty financiers as gifts. Buying them as gifts makes the price really friendly. Totally recommend!!!!!
Single financier vs 5-piece package: what did I order?

At Byway Bakers Balsan Station I ordered a 5-piece financier package for ₩13,500 and an iced americano for ₩4,000.
- 5-piece financier package ₩13,500
- Iced americano ₩4,000

I originally planned to have just an americano and one financier in the café. But a financier is ₩3,200 each, and ordering 5 is a much better deal, so I got the set to eat at home too.

They even wrap each one individually, which is neat and so nice. It makes you think it's perfect as a gift. A financier with a cup of coffee is love, right? hahaha

Fig, almond choco, yellow cheese and pecan pie financiers compared
For my 5-piece box I picked 4 flavors: almond choco, fig, yellow cheese and pecan pie, with 2 of the 5 being fig. I just love figs so much.
Fig financier
The financier is perfectly crisp outside and moist inside, topped with fig for a popping texture and a tangy sweetness. It's the kind of financier that makes you think "this keeps getting better the more I eat."

Almond choco, pecan pie and yellow cheese financiers
The almond choco financier has sliced almonds inside the chocolate, so you get great texture along with rich chocolate. Do you like chocolate?? Then it's a must pick!
The pecan pie financier pairs nutty pecans with cinnamon, so of course it's delicious. The yellow cheese financier is dense, crunchy and sweet. When you crave sugar, it's the yellow cheese financier.

Iced americano
The americano at Byway Bakers is smooth and nutty, a safe taste anyone can enjoy. It goes so well with the sweet financiers!

Would I recommend Byway Bakers as a Balsan Station dessert café?

Byway Bakers Balsan Station is a Balsan Station café with delicious desserts, comfortable enough to stay a long time and have a good time.
※ I haven't tried the other desserts yet, but definitely try the fig financier. It's so good~^^
