Gangnam Station restaurant where you ring a bell to order: Eulji Darak

I finally went back to Eulji Darak Gangnam Station, a pasta place near Gangnam Station I used to visit a lot :) After getting my hair dyed at the Chasim main branch, my husband and I headed there for a Gangnam Station date and lunch — since I'd been so many times before, it felt oddly nostalgic to walk in again after a while. Though the big jacket photo zone that used to be by the entrance is gone now 🧸

Since it had been a while since my last visit to this pasta spot near Gangnam Station, I mostly ordered the dishes I used to love — here's the review 😊

How to get to Eulji Darak from Gangnam Station Exit 11, and where to park

Eulji Darak Gangnam Station is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 11 of Gangnam Station, so it was easy to find. There's no dedicated parking, so if you're driving, you'll need to use a nearby public lot. Yeoksam Culture Park Public Parking Lots 1 and 2 or the CGV underground parking lot should work.

There's no break time either, so it was easy to drop by comfortably whether at lunchtime or a bit later :) Heading up to the second floor, the entrance is a little unusual — instead of a wooden door, you open something that looks like an elevator door, and a clean white-toned space opens up 🤎 the door that looks like a wardrobe is actually the restroom :)

Seating and atmosphere at Eulji Darak Gangnam Station

It's mostly tables for two, but going further inside there are tables for four and group seating as well, so the seating was more varied than I expected.

The chandeliers blend well with the wood-toned tables, giving the whole place a warm, comfortable feel.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, plenty of sunlight comes in, and the natural light during the day makes the space feel even brighter. That's why it would work well as a Gangnam Station date spot, or a blind date location for a first meeting. It would also be a good fit for a gathering with friends or a wedding invitation meetup :)

The self-serve bar and how to order by ringing the table bell

The self-serve bar has water, napkins, wet wipes and aprons set out, so you just grab what you need. They said pickles are brought over if you ask for them. There are baby chairs too, so it looked like a fine option for visiting with kids.

What's on the menu at Eulji Darak

They hand you the menu along with a bell — ring it and a staff member comes over to take your order.

We ordered the best-seller items: darak omelet rice, darak rose pasta, katsu sando and cola.

Darak omelet rice

The darak omelet rice — my favorite. A staff member comes over and cuts the omelet open for you, and the way the halved egg unfolds softly is really pretty to watch ෆ On top of the European-style fried rice sits a soft Japanese-style omelet, finished with darak's house-made omelet rice sauce.

The egg was fluffy and moist, pairing softly with the fried rice, and the sauce was tasty enough that I never got tired of it till the last bite. You really have to try the darak omelet rice ☆☆

Darak rose pasta: spicy, and better for it

The darak rose pasta comes topped with plenty of fresh cream and grated grana padano cheese on top. The staff explained you're supposed to mix it all together, so I stirred the sauce, cream and cheese evenly. Mixing it turns it into a creamy rose sauce.

The base meat sauce has a slight kick of spice, so even with the cream mixed in it wasn't heavy, and the savoriness came through nicely. With the soft sauce carrying a touch of heat, it was the kind of flavor that kept me reaching for more bites :) If you're visiting as a couple, it might be nice to each order one — the omelet rice and this Gangnam Station pasta — plus a side to share :D

Katsu sando, the side dish she orders every time

And of course I ordered the katsu sando, a must whenever I come to Eulji Darak. It's a pork cutlet sandwich made with juicy loin cutlet, and the thick cutlet inside makes it look filling just by looking at it.

Drizzling a bit of the sauce that comes with it over the top pairs the meat's clean flavor with the sauce really well — it's genuinely delicious ･ᴗ･ The cutlet is crispy outside and moist inside, so it goes well with the bread too. Since sandwiches can get soggy over time, I'd personally recommend eating the katsu sando first.

Eulji Darak for a Gangnam Station date, blind date or wedding invitation meetup

It was nice to see that Eulji Darak hasn't changed much — the menu lineup and the clean, warm atmosphere are still the same. Beyond pasta, there are dishes like omelet rice and katsu sando that are good for sharing, and the relaxed atmosphere doesn't feel like too much pressure for a blind date either.

It's the kind of atmosphere that suits a gathering with friends or a wedding invitation meetup where you're chatting over a meal. Naver Reservations are available too, so it would be convenient to book ahead. I went with the best-seller picks again this time, and as expected, it was satisfying :) I'm planning to stop by again next time I meet up with friends.
