Songdo chicken and fries restaurant with free sauces: Angry Potato

I heard new spots had opened in the Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo food hall, so of course I went~ I was like, what trendy places have arrived now~~~ and wow, Angry Potato had opened!!! For a fry monster and sauce fanatic like me, this is a 500% perfect fit, haha.

How do you use the free sauce bar?

My absolute favorite thing was the free sauce bar! There are a whopping seven sauces, so you can squeeze out as much as you want and take them with you. If you eat at Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo, you can get refills too. All sauce fanatics, gather round~!~! (Me = the person who adds four extra sauces when ordering Goobne Chicken^^)

Where to find it on the food hall pop-up line, plus the menu

Head left along the food hall pop-up line and it is the first shop you see! Angry Potato’s character instantly catches your eye, lol. The whole interior is witty, so the atmosphere feels cute and punchy—it makes you curious even if you are just walking past.

Beyond regular fries, there are all kinds of options: the currently buzzy chewy potatoes, chicken, chili cheese bars, mini burgers, and more.

I could not decide what to get and wanted to try a bit of everything, so I ordered the Deep Crunch Box, Chipotle Pulled Pork Fries, and one piece of Hot Chilis Chicken.

Weekend dinner wait and self-packaging

As expected for such a hot spot, orders were really backed up, so it took about 30 minutes to get the food. (That was at peak time on a weekend evening.) They call your number when it is ready, then you pack your takeout yourself at the self-packaging zone!

Before packing up, you can pump as much of whichever sauce you want into your box >_< I got a good amount of every kind, including chipotle, Diavolo hot sauce, and white sauce, lol. If you want to pack sauces separately, they also sell takeout containers: ₩500 for one compartment or ₩1,000 for three, just so you know ⛧⋆

What I tried from Angry Potato’s takeout menu

The packaging is bursting with Angry Potato’s own personality too. Fries and chicken can seem ordinary, but the character and design somehow make them feel extra special?!

The Deep Crunch Box is ₩20,000. It has all the popular items: Hot Crunch Chicken, chewy potatoes, a chili cheese stick, fries, ranch sauce, a mini shrimp burger, mac and cheese, and pickles.

First up, the mini burger! I looked it up and saw people taking a big dip in ranch sauce, so I tried it that way too, hahaha—and there was a reason. It was seriously delicious. Move over, famous shrimp burger places~~~~~ I was so sad it was mini-sized ㅠ

The chewy potatoes people line up for

Those chewy potatoes everyone is into these days!! They were a bit like potato rice cakes and a bit like potato pancakes, and the chewiness was more charming than I expected. I immediately understood why people line up to buy them^^ Hahahahahaha.

Hot Crunch Chicken, crispy like a snack

True to its Crunch name, this chicken was seriously CRUNCHY! The coating crunched like a snack cracker, so the texture was spot-on. I piled on mac and cheese and fries too ^^ Hobby: finding food combinations (with lots of failures too) hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

I recommend the Chipotle Pulled Pork Potatoes

Chipotle Pulled Pork Potatoes are ₩8,200. I recommend these first of all! The pulled pork comes with jalapeños, cheddar cheese, and chipotle sauce, and the combination is so good, lol. The fries themselves are made with 100% fresh potatoes rather than frozen ones, so they feel chewier and a little more moist than fries elsewhere. The fries were genuinely so good bb. I regretted not paying an extra ₩1,000 for a large🥺

Hot Chilis that will have spice wimps gasping

The Hot Chilis seasoning is really spicy, but delicious. It is spicy enough to have spice wimps panting, yet it has that addictive heat that keeps making you reach for more~~~ Personally, I liked Hot Chilis better than Hot Crunch b.

To be a true sauce fanatic, you have to dunk your fries in sauce ˘◡˘ Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Sauce fanatics are happy, hehe hahaha.

I really loved Angry Potato because you can choose sauces to suit your taste and pile them on!!! Next time, I am getting the large Chipotle Pulled Pork Potatoes 😎
