These days lots of people head to Songdo Triple Street on weekends or weekday evenings to shop and eat out with friends or family, right?

Haha, yesterday I was desperately craving a hot, filling hot pot, so I combed through the Triple Street area and found an all-you-can-eat hot pot place with seriously generous meat quality and a huge self-bar. I went home very happy! This is my visit to Sangsangcheom (상상첨), a big, newly opened shabu-shabu spot on the 1st floor of Building D.

Songdo has plenty of Western and Japanese restaurants, but a place that serves proper Chinese hot pot with unlimited refills was surprisingly hard to find. :(

Whenever the price looked decent, the meat was limited or the self-bar was weak, and I always left a bit disappointed. This time Sangsangcheom had very fresh meat, an enormous variety of fried dishes, and even a refreshing fruit dessert at the end, a full-course, genuinely good all-you-can-eat hot pot place in Songdo.

Whether you go solo or with people you love, I'll share my meal record, eaten happily until my belly was totally full! Haha
Where is Sangsangcheom Songdo Triple Street, and where to park?
Sangsangcheom is on the 1st floor of Building D at Songdo Triple Street, so it's easy to drop by before or after shopping or a movie. The underground parking at Triple Street is large and parking registration is reportedly free, so driving there was no stress at all. Haha
It's a big shopping complex, so parking registration went smoothly, and access is great, you can just walk right in.

Atmosphere and cleanliness at Sangsangcheom
From the entrance, the restaurant has the clean, stylish feel of a modern Chinese restaurant, and the tables are spaced widely. It's a layout where you can fetch food comfortably without worrying about anyone around you.
The whole place is very clean and well ventilated, so you don't need to worry about the smell sticking to your clothes, and you can see it's kept hygienic! From the first impression, it was a spotless space I trusted right away.
Non-spicy hot pot broth: how was the beef bone and mushroom half-and-half?
At Sangsangcheom, when you order, they set up a half-and-half broth in a big pot. Instead of the spicy, stimulating red broth, we chose a combo of rich beef bone broth (usagol) and a cool, clean mushroom broth. Haha. As the broth started bubbling, the aroma alone had a depth unlike broth made by casually stirring in powder.
- Rich, hearty beef bone broth: the deep bone flavor comes through strongly and pairs wonderfully with the savory juices of the meat when you blanch it. It's a hearty, restorative broth that suits people who can't handle spicy food and families with babies! Haha
- Clean, refreshing mushroom broth: a subtle mix of mushroom aromas gives a clear, classic vegetable-broth feel, so when you simmer vegetables in it, the mildness is at its peak.
Alternate a bite in beef bone broth and a bite in mushroom broth, and you can keep eating without getting tired of it, the best half-and-half harmony! Haha

What's on the Sangsangcheom self-bar?
Beyond meat and vegetables, Sangsangcheom's self-bar has a huge amount of fried food, which surprised me. While the broth boiled I rushed to the self-bar, and wow... crispy outside, moist inside fried items were kept nice and warm, perfect to dip in sauce as a snack before the hot pot meat cooks. The quality was so good you could get full on the sides alone, and you could really feel the owner's generosity. Haha
Unlimited beef, lamb and vegetables
The beef and lamb at Sangsangcheom's meat station were a fresh, bright red, as fresh as sashimi-grade cuts, so you can take as much as you like without hesitating! Haha Swish the meat in the boiling beef bone and mushroom broth just until the pink is gone, dunk it in the sauce, and the chewy, tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture is truly art.
The vegetables were crisp and fresh with not a wilted one in sight, and wrapping them together with the meat gives you a happy, bursting-full feeling! Haha
How does the free drink at Sangsangcheom work?
Sangsangcheom gives one free drink per table! Haha But the free drink is for dining in only, and taking leftover drink out as takeout is absolutely not allowed, so remember to finish it in the restaurant!
When you crave something fizzy and refreshing in the middle of hot pot, a cold drink resets your mouth beautifully. Haha

Sangsangcheom dessert: watermelon and orange
On one side of Sangsangcheom's self-bar there's a fruit dessert corner where you can take as much watermelon and orange as you want. After clearing every last bit of meat, vegetables and fried food until your belly is stuffed, head over to the neatly arranged fruit corner! Haha Surprisingly, fruit prices these days are worth their weight in gold, yet they had sweet, cool watermelon and zesty, juicy orange ready!

After greasy hot pot, one bite of watermelon sends sweet juice spreading and cools your mouth like paradise, and finishing with vitamin-packed orange meant I didn't even need to go to a café, a perfect dessert course all in one place. Haha I couldn't help but be moved by the generous setup from start to finish at this Songdo all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant. Haha
Who is Sangsangcheom Songdo Triple Street Branch best for?
Sangsangcheom, in a perfect spot on the 1st floor of Triple Street Building D, treated me to a full course: deep beef bone and mushroom half-and-half broth, fresh meat and fried food, one free drink, and watermelon and orange for dessert, and I left full and happy! Haha Parking is easy and the staff were very kind, so I think it's a top Songdo meal option for filling up before or after shopping. Haha

The place is tidy too, so whether it's an unusual date, a get-together with friends or a family dinner, I think everyone will be satisfied! Haha If you want a good-value, hearty hot pot and shabu-shabu near Songdo Triple Street on a weekend or weekday evening with no risk of disappointment, don't hesitate and head to Sangsangcheom!
Once you go, you'll save it as a regular spot and keep thinking about it and coming back. I strongly recommend this gem! Haha
