Today I'm bringing you news of a crazy donkatsu (Korean-style pork cutlet) hotspot in Songdo that nails both value and flavor, you guys! Haha. With prices going up these days, have you been typing into the search bar things like "I just want to stuff myself with a crispy, generous plate of pork cutlet!" or "Is there a place in Songdo with a big portion AND refreshing cold soba?"
This time I visited a spot on Songdomirae-ro that made my jaw drop with its value and portions, haha. I ordered the ₩12,000 main dish and out came two giant cutlets! It's Ogong Donkatsu (오공돈까스)! Haha!

I totally inhaled the explosively crispy signature Ogong Donkatsu together with a ₩8,500 cold soba floating with icy slush. What a full meal!

Where is Ogong Donkatsu in Songdo?
Ogong Donkatsu is at 27 Songdomirae-ro 11beon-gil, B-dong 1st floor, Unit 121, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. Let me share the exact location first so it's easy to visit!
It sits right in B-dong on Songdomirae-ro, so it's super easy to find! It's really popular as a lunch spot for office workers nearby, and parking and getting around are neat and tidy, so it's an easy place to drop in, haha.

Ogong Donkatsu atmosphere: is it okay to eat alone?
The inside of Ogong Donkatsu is clean and hygienically kept, so it's good for eating alone, and it's honestly the perfect space for a hearty meal with friends or coworkers.

Do you really get 2 cutlets for ₩12,000 at Ogong Donkatsu?
Order the signature Ogong Donkatsu (₩12,000) and you get two big, thick cutlets. The long-awaited plate finally made its entrance! Wow... the moment it landed on the table I couldn't believe my eyes, haha.

For a ₩12,000 cutlet these days I assumed I'd get one big piece, but crazy big, thick cutlets came out as a set of two, wham! Haha!

Is Ogong Donkatsu crispy outside and juicy inside?
Yes: the outside was crunchy like a cracker and the pork inside was juicy. The freshly fried golden coating looked mouthwatering, and the moment I cut it with tongs and scissors, the crunch echoed loudly through the restaurant, haha.
I cut a big bite and dipped it in the sauce! The outside was super crunchy and the pork inside held its juices, tender and moist, a textbook crispy-outside, juicy-inside cutlet.

It's thick rather than thin, so the chew is wonderful, and the portion just doesn't seem to shrink no matter how much you eat. Even big eaters would be truly satisfied. Record-breaking value, haha.
Does Ogong Donkatsu's cold soba (₩8,500) go well with the cutlet?
The cold soba at Ogong Donkatsu is ₩8,500 and is perfect for cleansing your palate between greasy bites of cutlet. The one combo you can never skip with donkatsu is cold soba! Since the cutlet is rich and hearty, I needed clean, cold broth now and then, and this soba backed me up perfectly, haha.

Chewy, springy soba noodles in broth with floating slush ice, then stir in the seaweed flakes, scallions and wasabi and slurp a big mouthful... wow, the coolness goes right to your bones.

The broth is sweetish with deep savory flavor, so after a bite of crispy, hot cutlet and a sip of cold soba broth, the greasiness vanishes in a second. A fantastic pairing! For ₩8,500 the portion is generous too, so it works as a main dish on its own, not just a side, haha.

Ogong Donkatsu: overall verdict
Ogong Donkatsu is a real Songdo donkatsu favorite with rare, crazy value and great flavor 🥰
