I visited Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch, a café near Yeoksam Station. There looked to be a parking lot right beside the building, but the barrier wouldn't lift, so I just parked elsewhere and went in.

The terrace you can use in any season

Right in front of the store there's a terrace space too. With its sleek interior and pleasant, comfortable atmosphere, this terrace is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a bit of calm in the middle of the city. Sipping specialty coffee on a terrace that stays comfortable year-round thanks to its heating and cooling system felt like real healing amid busy Yeoksam. When the weather's cool, sitting outside and people-watching would be fun too. You can also reserve a seat through Naver Reservation.

Mid-century modern black-and-silver interior

Yeoksam is Mini Male's fourth directly-operated location, and the space stands out with its mid-century modern vibe. The interior is beautifully done, with black and silver tones giving it a luxurious feel.

Even the little decor pieces scattered around were fun to look at — it all felt very trendy. Even the review-event signboard was color-matched to black, so the whole place felt cohesive.

Inside the dessert showcase: beans and drip bags too

For dessert there are cookies, cakes, and more. Their specialty drip bags and handmade cookie sets would make a great gift. Sold-out items are properly reflected on the kiosk, so I mostly browsed what was actually available. The packaging felt very Mini Male, and they also sell whole beans, giving the place a professional feel. What we ordered: iced Helsinki latte and two cakes

There's a kiosk menu board, so you can browse at your own pace and order right away, which is convenient. I ordered Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch's signature drink, the iced Helsinki latte, along with a New York cheesecake and a milk cream cake.

My order came out. For cake, you just take it out of the fridge yourself. The latte was made fresh in no time. Thanks to Mini Male's uncompromising coffee and bakery items, I think just about anyone would be satisfied.

It's said to be a reinterpretation of the moving latte the owner happened upon during a business trip to Helsinki, Finland — a life-changing latte experience. Made from freshly roasted beans' rich espresso meeting the smoothness of rich milk, the Helsinki latte is Mini Male's signature drink, having already sold over 100,000 cups. The moment I took a sip, I understood why it's the signature. At first there's a subtle sweetness that really lifts your mood. The milk base feels very heavy and thick, giving it a luxurious taste. As you keep drinking, the sweetness mostly fades and what's left is the nutty milk and coffee flavor, which is a whole different charm. It was so good I wanted to order another one.

Cookies and financiers sold out: New York cheesecake and milk cream cake instead

There's also a New York cheesecake and a milk cream cake. These desserts, made with Mini Male's own recipes, would satisfy anyone looking for the best desserts near Yeoksam Station. From the handmade New York cookies in the style of New York's Levain Bakery to the cold financiers with their standout chewy texture, both are said to pair perfectly with specialty coffee — but unfortunately both were sold out when I went. Instead, I grabbed both cakes, and they were a classic, solid flavor I enjoyed with my coffee.

Three bean options and how to switch to decaf

There were more coffee delivery orders coming in than I expected. I saw an iced Americano with a thick layer of crema on top that looked really appetizing. It turns out Mini Male insists on only using carefully selected specialty green beans scoring 80 points or higher in cupping. The three beans, personally selected and roasted by the head roaster, each offer their own charm — Balance, Kel, and Decaf. I had mine as decaf in my Helsinki latte.

Good for meetups and first dates, open until 10pm

It'd also make a great spot for a wedding after-party — there's a wedding hall nearby, so it's good for coming with friends after a ceremony. Apparently Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch is even more beautiful at night than during the day. Maybe that's why it's also well known as a spot for blind dates and get-togethers. Since it stays open until 10pm, you can enjoy the stylish atmosphere and unwind late into the evening. The soft lighting definitely adds to the café's mood.
