Designer Junbo's crop cut + down perm: price and consultation

The service this time was a crop cut + down perm for ₩65,000.

Before the cleanup, my shaggy hair made me look stuffy.

Before starting, designer Junbo first recommended a style for my face shape and asked what I thought. The conclusion: I have a round face with prominent cheekbones, so growing my hair out and getting a parted perm would spread the focus and suit me.

First, my sideburns were messy, so he shaved them as short as possible with clippers, and then the sideburn area would be pressed down with the down perm. For the crop cut, he started by clearing the shaggy hair with clippers.

How does the down perm go?

A down perm presses the sideburns flat against the sides of your face. Once the hair lies down, the puffed-up hair sticks close, which is said to make your face and head look relatively smaller.

He applied the perm solution carefully, then fixed it with bands so the solution soaks into the hair.

A machine blows heat for 20 minutes so the solution sets well. It was busy, so I waited a bit before going to wash my hair.

During the wash, a staff member neatly washed my hair so no water got in.

Blow-drying and how to style your bangs at home

After washing, they dry the hair with a dryer. Rather than just blasting hot air, they lightly work the hair with their hands as they dry.

My bangs were a bit too short for a parted perm right now, but I was told a down perm and natural upkeep is the better direction. While applying wax and blow-drying, the staff also showed me how to sweep the bangs diagonally, so it looked easy enough to follow at home.

They also neatened the hair at the back of my neck and helped me with how to style it, which was more helpful than any other salon.

Crop cut and down perm before & after

Compared with before, there was a clear difference. With the sides tidied, my face looked sharper and the overall impression was much neater. A crop cut alone changed the mood a lot.

This visit wasn't just time spent getting a haircut. It showed me which style direction fits my current hair. I was especially impressed that designer Junbo suggested a realistic style considering my face shape and hair length.
