Daejeon hagfish restaurant open late in Bongmyeong-dong: Jinppaei
Jinppaei is a briquette-grilled live hagfish and shellfish restaurant in the Bongmyeong-dong food alley near Yuseong Oncheon Station in Daejeon. A couple visited Jinppaei on a Friday around 10pm and ordered the hagfish with shellfish tasting set for 51,000 won and Busan gaja cold milmyeon (cold wheat noodles) for 6,000 won, and the hagfish stayed tender after being pre-grilled and held in a lunchbox to keep in the moisture. With side dishes and dried pollack soup included, Jinppaei works well as a late-night drinking spot in Bongmyeong-dong.
